The Goldcrest - Regulus regulus

The Goldcrest (Regulus regulus) had long been on our wishlist—we wanted to see and photograph it, but it just wouldn’t show itself. One day, we caught a fleeting glimpse of it, so we kept returning to the same location, hoping to see it again, but in vain.

Then, while strolling through the coastal town of Marano Lagunare, Julijana spotted two tiny birds in a pine tree. They were very high above us and so small that we initially thought they were some kind of fledglings. But then it hit us—the Goldcrest is the smallest of birds! When I focused my camera, I managed to catch a glimpse of that distinctive, special "yellow crest" high up in the treetop.

At last, I had captured it—though for that perfect shot, I’ll need more experience and patience. But Fotopogledi always achieves what it sets out to do 😉 😊🍀🍀🍀🌞
