Oh, I never noticed before, she's Carmilla the Vampire too, or at least her inspiration!

Is she an actual Undead Vampire or a Metahuman with Vampiric Attributes, like Morbius the Living Vampire?

Meling pot ancestries like that weren't especially common until the 1800's... I can't imagine her being too especially old. Maybe her mother was an Irish indentured servant and her father a Hessian mercenary.

Well Strange, I'd say it was nice knowing you but... it really wasn't.

Also Barbra seems remarkably sceptic considering she works for a guy who's fought werewolves, demons, and witch-boys, and is a card carrying member of a team who's other members include two aliens, an Amazon princess, and the king of Atlantis.

A nice bio, I kinda only know her as a jewel thief version, but her vampire side is super cool.

I see Barbara still has a little arbitrary skepticism to work her way through.

Hm, hm, hm.....
I read the Vox Box using Corey Burton's voice, and for some odd reason, I just couldn't stop laughing afterwards.  Is this normal?
Once again, great work doc.

I always thought she would be running an after hours club.

Interesting.

Guess Big Belly Burgers are appetizing to vampires?

Real vampires, scary even if you are a superhero. And Batman has history with vampires...and he's won. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be scared and from this bio alone this is one scary woman...I would be both frightened and interested to see her face the red hood

Oh yes...a vmapire is SO hard to comprehend wiht the hellspawns, the aliens, the alien gods, the guy who can fly, the man who can go from 0-to-600 mph within 5 seconds, the entire corps of various emotion-based colors...need I Go on?

Vampires are too close to home when you think about it. They are a nightmare humanity has coped with for a long time, a monster we've made to be as frightening as possible (usually) for the purposes of entertainment. I don't think it's that Barbara can't believe in them but more along the lines she doesn't want to. Because vampires are for all intents and purposes...predatory monsters which look like everyone else. Harder to spot them, even hard to stop them. It's not hard to comprehend I think, but it's sure is scary.

Yeah that's sci-fi alien stuff. It doesn't turn into a shadow, hypnotise you, make you their mind slave and then drink your blood and turn you into a monster too. Vampirism is something so ingrained into humanity's nightmares we would prefer if it stayed a nightmare. It can be argued it's the one monster we don't want to admit is real. You have a point about the arbitrary scepticism but what would scare you more? The parasite or dracula? Because statistically, it's easier to outrun the parasite

Yeah, but on Earth-27, while all the Metahuman stuff is accepted, the idea of magic and mysticism are treated with skepticism.

A century of Cinema will do that.

And then I would promptly call every single one of those people a hypocrite. DC is a completely unrealistic world, and if you're fine with things like Superman and the Green Lanterns, you really shouldn't be playing the skeptic where something like a vampire is concerned. Physics-defying pseudo-gods are no more or less realistic than a vampire.

It's also why I hate it when people play the realism card in these worlds. For instance, if a female character wears high heels, everyone whines about it. But the guys who violate the laws of physics, shoot lasers out of their eyes, and straight up use magic? All A-Okay. When "non-superhuman" people like Batman do things that no real life human could ever do (least of all consistently), it's also okay...except when it's something like running in high heels.

-_-

Back to the matter at hand, I take it this file confirms you'll do an Arkham profile for Nocturna?

Yup. Should be out soon, I'm writing it right now... Is bloodletting one T or two? ;)

In defense of the citizens of Earth-27, those things can be explained with "comic book world science". Magic cannot.
Also, people are hypocrites and more ignorant than we all want to admit. I mean, I hate to bring up politics, but look at how successful Trump's campaign is IRL.

And that, my friend, is a topic for another day...or not. Not much of a politics person.

Yeah, I hate to talk politics myself. Never ends up being a good time. I hate politicians! That's why I'm voting for Lex Luthor!

j/k

So it's like the two Thor movies where the Asgardians are actually aliens and not gods. Right?

Well... Magic does exist, case in point: Zatanna. It's just the general population doesn't believe in it.

Ah I see :)

I think we're going to get some major confirmation of Magic in the MCU.
