ahh it took me 3 years to get this many watchers but idek a lot just kinda left and lots as I already mentioned seemed to watch me and disappear after that
I don't know I kinda feel sad my watcher count is a lie since it gives me a false hope and at the same time I'm relieved not THAT many people are tuned in but I plan to keep drawing and posting and staying active so who knows maybe one day I'll actually have 1000 active watchers but personally I'd probably have a heart attack getting so many comments and spam it would confuse me ;;
It's probably better to stay small than be popular I mean I'm "known" here and there but people aren't tracing my art or stealing my designs and I'm pretty happy with that placement
My deviations get around 50 favs. If I do really awesome stuff and not only scribbles.
But my bigger pictures or projects grow. Like about 100 favs.
And my most faved deviation is my flash game with about 500 favs. ------------------------
Aw man... I really don't feel like saying this to you because you are already so scared and stuff... ------------------------------- But I've looked through your gallery... and I have to say, it doesn't really look like your frontpage does. You frontpage kinda has something the rest of your gallery lacks. And thats very cruel to say, but you need a more unique style, or a better technique. I see tons of artists everyday drawing cute animal adopts, chibis or their own species. But they hardly ever change.
If you want some suggestions, you should try to get a more unique drawing style, like the dogs on your frontpage. THEY are AWESOME. You need to make more of those! I suggest you make a steam custom adopt row. For like... those animals in rather steamy colours with those technical accessoires on them.
You know.. everyone does fanart, and everyone does cute pastel colour animals. But I heard you like reptiles and also JUST LOOK at HOW AWESOME your icon is! I think your gallery is a bit disappointing when people see what you can actually do!
Challenge yourself. Do something more than cuteness pastel stuff. You know ... look at your frontpage, do more of those steampunk dogs or cats or anything. Use more seldom colours, like warm grey tones, maybe black and white, also brown. It's very uncommon, not many deviants do those.
If you wanna check out REALLY awesome people on here, with REALLY unique styles, check out Look at how awesome it looks! If you'd just add a simple background, it does give your whole pic a better appearance. Also, see how unique her drawing style is? It's really stricking how the emotions look like. Thats something your onisheep lack. They are just still figures in different colours, maybe bring more action to them, make them smile and jump, not only be scared and cute.
Also, check out Sharpie. Her OC is a shark mermaid. She is in grey tones which look pretty awesome. She is very unique, go look through her gallery to get some inspiration! She also has a real deal towards emotional faces and movement. Her pictures look very smooth. She draws with the marker tool in Sai, go check that you too! Her backgrounds aren't that simple, but her OCs and Mermaids are just so AWESOME. It's kind a like... She uses a shark, you could use a raptor, It would be awesome, to see more unique animals than the normal cuteness overload stuff. You could try to fall out of your routine, eg.
Also check out AishaNeko Her stuff is really old from now, and she is more active on tumblr, but all those deviants I mentioned have a taste for using colours awesomely. They are just so good at combining them and giving those pictures a final touch. You could try that too. Look at this pic. It's only stiking because of the colours. You could use more uncommon highlights in your adopts. Like, see the black eyes? There are pastels in it, but not purely. You should check out quality contrast or shade contrast.
----------------------------------------------- I hope I am not rude or anything ;w; Just telling you what you could do better to be more unique and more fascinating. We all see what you can do, like your frontpage dogs or your icon, which are incredible. If you'd have adopts like them, with some emotion or movement, some better contrasts, it would make a great deal to your page. Check out Vivie, she also is on youtube, she animated this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PKNuZ… it only has simple backgrounds, but does a great deal. Check out more drawing techniques and try to improve with colours :3 I know you can do it <3
This is actually really helpful! Of course there are a few flaws
I'd love to make more like the characters on my page, they are all my OC's, but I didn't design every one of them, and/or they are part of a species I don't own
Such as Timekeeper, the brown steampunk dog, he is not part of a species and I am the original designer
Chess, the purple Waterdog, I got a MYO slot and designed him, but I do not own the species so making more similar to him would be looked down upon
As for my icon, that is Kaito, probably my favorite OC. I got him as a Christmas surprise from one of my idol artists (I still die over getting him), Kemikel. They make very unique designs and I've been inspiring from them a little to help with my own designs. However I am not the original designer or owner of the species so making similar would also be looked down upon
Although as I've said before, I try to keep my gallery very varied to be appealing to many people, I'm really into cutesy designs even though they're quite popular, some can be appealing to me and fun to design, however of course I have other themes that interest me like with the right hints of creepy, I can make a cool looking character, I also like steampunk, shark/fish, Alice in Wonderland, black and white stripes, and many other themes, but the more creepy or cool look I aim for, the more they look like someone's 2010 Mary Sue wolf demon lion hybrid whatever
I do aim to make more interesting and unique designs that don't quite match the cutesy look as I've done with a few
As for my Onisheep species, they have a porceline like mask (it is unknown if it is their actual face or just a mask) that I saw in a dream, it goes against concepts for their expressions to change, so I make up with it through outfit designs, traits, color palettes, and can make a character appealing to me
Of course I draw what I like and what stands out to me, and I know it won't be appealing to everyone, but everyone is just something you can please ;v;
There are so many ideas out there it's hard to come up with something that hasn't been done similar in the past pretty much nothing new is unique anymore
