The remains of one of tow XT-class craft used as target practice in 1946 by a Seafire ( the navy version of the spitfire) and one Mosquito using 20 mm High Explosive shells. This one is in better condition than the other one which after seeing it for my self, I have now named it HMS Swiss cheese….nothing much left of it…
These subs were built in 1943 for the purpose of training X craft crews who In September 1943, during Operation Source, carried out in the cold waters of the Kaa Inlet in northern Norway, two X craft (X6 & X7) put the German Battleship Tirpitz out of action by placing charges on her hull, long enough for the RAF to finish it off in Operation Paravane a year later.
