Exodus III: Resignation

Another one of the Exodus series. Not that it was ever meant to be a series, but I guess I'm taking a liking to it, so I've changed the names of the older two to fit their new status.



But after three works on the same topic I've let my mind wander, and questions arise. Who are the people that are running from the attacks? Specially curious about those privileged ones, did they have something to do with it or are they just the rich townsmen and women? Is it always the same town? Already in the first one there was a town and a castle, so I'm guessing it is not always the same place. If it is not, then something at a bigger scale is going on. Dragons invading the Earth? (whichever Earth it is). Now that starts to sound interesting...
As I can only repeat the same idea for so long, I guess the upcoming works on this topic must get more ambitious in what they represent, maybe a good story will unfold.

This was a bigger project than the last few however, trying to continue with the same style of older pieces but being much more gentle with color and light. This time I wanted to focus more on the character and the town, so I chose a composition that would allow me to do that. Both were fun to do, but creating the town was definitely my happy times. Did a lot of messing around with blurs on the closest vines, but in the end I decided it was unnecessary. Also had another version with orange light hitting the foreground from behind. It did look great in itself, but later on I realized how much it changed what feeling the piece gave and reverted to a more dark, sad kind of style which I think fits the intention better.
