Hey guys! Just released a new video turning one of my fans into a painting! I recently asked my Patrons to submit photos of themselves posing or doing something cool and there were so many amazing submissions!! This was super challenging but happy how it ended up! Will post the Final painting on Monday! Hope you guys enjoy it :) Emote Flame Princess Princess La

VIDEO: youtu.be/uCDgqHp3lpc

*Per Comments: Didn't mean to offend anyone! I was mainly just using the piece for reference and to help me with the painting.

What this tells me is how important references can be.
Your finished piece is absolutely beautiful, and it's really nice to see that you have your supporters somehow involved in the creative process.
That's just awesome!

I love this painting very much, and the fan i VERY LUCKY to be a ref in the piece!! I will admit, Sameface Syndrome irks me to no end, and it is very important to have the ability to depict a variety of faces. This is not a jab a Ross not making the girl in the final product look like the girl in the ref, I don't really care for that. My only issue is the sameface..

Other than that, this is really good!

I love this, and I especially love the comparison.

No, it doesn't look like the model. What this expertly shows is how abstracted fantasy paintings like this are, and that they don't really look like real life people. The model is cute and had a great idea for a very nice pose. The painting is gorgeous, but has nothing to do with real life. That's not bad. It's just something that everyone should be aware of. And I can imagine those that aren't artists really could benefit from comparison reminders like these, to point out just how removed from real life proportions nice fantasy paintings can be. :)

Lol y'all it's called a TRANSFORMATION for a reason?? She's used as a reference, and using something as a reference doesn't mean COPYING the photo. It's not supposed to be a portrait!!

this. He's only using it as a pose reference. And seeing people talk negative about him on his own da comment section just seems disrespectful and rude, even if he doesn't read them.

Reading these comments, it's almost as if people don't understand the concept of using a photo as pose reference -_- I use them all the time, and never draw the actual person, because it's just not my thing to draw real people. I think your fan sent in a great pose and you did an awesome job! :>

Ikr. Did they even read the description at all?

In most of his videos he does the pose himself or have a friend do a pose, but he changes the painting and creates a different and stylized character. So I don't get why people are so surprised...

I think you did an excellent job!  Clap   i also think the negative responses just might be due to the interpretation of your description.
