Faron was... Annoyed. Annoyed because, who thought it would be a cool idea to bring three horses to a race. Two of which had never raced. Atop of that, three chestnuts. Oh, Faron knew who's idea it was. Drake's. Faron wanted no part in this, but he was thrown in to deal with Crow, being the one to break the colt. Atop of that, he thought it was a cute idea to have Crow with two fillies. However, at least with a little reprimand for getting studly, he decided that it wasn't as cool as first thought and went on to ignore the two.
At the race, it was a whole other story. Crow was a trainwreck, the colt spinning around nervously as Faron did his best to warm him up. Zeidan had volunteered to deal with Chrome, one of the new fillies. She had, so far, taken everything in stride. Came off the trailer, looked around, neighed once and then decided that it was all too boring to give much more than that. Of course with Coy, she was always all over the place, dancing around, her head up and ears perked, neighing to everyone she saw. At least she wasn't as unmanageable as Crow was being, making Faron regret his decisions. It took Drake holding Chome and Coy while Zeidan threw tack on Crow to get him squared away. Even then, Zeidan had to dive out of the tack stall to avoid getting trampled as the colt spun around like he was going to melt.
As the jockeys came out, Griffon eyed Crow and then huffed. "I always get the psychotic ones..." he grumbled. Previously, he had been the main jockey for Stones. Well, everyone knew how that turned out. Griffon was given a leg up, Crow's butt almost hitting the ground as he lurched forward. Griffon latched onto him, huffing as he gathered the reins. "Stupid colts..." he grumbled. For Coy and Chrome, neither of them gave any issues at all. Chrome still took everything like an old pro, despite this being her first race. Coy just jigged in place, but didn't move from where she was parked to let people tack her up and then mount up.
Everything went well up until the gate. Everyone loaded with ease, except of course, Crow. He balked, planting his feet as he was pulled onward, his ears flattened. Drake watched from the sidelines, looking through binoculars. "Legend breeds stupid..." Faron grumbled, making Drake roll his eyes. "Coy's pretty good." he replied, making Faron shrug. "I dunno, she has her moments." he said. The both of them fell silent as the bell rang and the gates opened. Now, they just hoped for the best of the three of them.
