One layer painting! :)

More of a spontaneous practise piece, where i just start to paint without knowing what to paint, and its those who sometimes turn out the best i think.

I like this piece very much. The setting and the statue's placement give the picture the feeling of a sacred place.

The color and the giant statue at either the end or the beginning of the river is absolutely amazing.  I love the details in the painting and the mountains in the background. The ground around the river and leading to the statue is almost barren so it adds a sort of foreboding sense to the painting, but the lack of greenery just adds to the brilliance of the painting. The sky gives the painting the color it's missing without overtaking the entire background. This scene looks like something out of an epic fantasy/supernatural adventure novel. Excellent work!

I must say I really like this and also the title sounds fitting for the picture but also inviting to just follow that river and to see the marvels it might bring.
