I opened the image in question, just to see how much post work was involved to make it into a seamless realistic texture.

Not granted I am no professional in the sense I am not hired by a game company but anyway, heres the result and my comments

Many thanks once again, its always good to see what flaws and issues people may feel a photo has from a game artist point of view although I was aware of shadows and harsh sunlight.

This particular shot was taken my by friend and website partner from isourcetextures.com

The cracks I feel are unfair, how can one prevent what shows through the cracks in a fence when taking a photo?

Obvious dark and sharp shadows on the front of a building are a nightmare and can make a texture impossible to make seamless. However, in this example I do not feel the shadow in question was too bothersome.

Bottom line, I have paid and downloaded for a lot of stock in 5 years and all of them require "some" post work, I expect it otherwise I could just sell it "as is"

My finished seamless version took me 15 minutes to complete. I am sure I could of spent more time but my aim was to see just how much post work was required to make it seamless and suitable for use on a basic level.

Many thanks for your comments :)

oops my error, you understand its a photo stock image.

Thanks for your feedback, it is noted :)

:)

Can I just point out, the image your refering to is actually "raw" photo stock for game artists/developers to do the post work you go into detail in your comment.

I make game graphics and fully understand the need for post work to turnraw photo stock (as in the stock you comment on)into a seamless, realistic game texture.

Most game textures are created from Photo stock. The image you left your critique on is just that, photo stock. Not the end result of a "game texture"

aww sorry I am years late to respond but you're most welcome about the ivy stock image - you have edited to such a degree I think legally and morally you didn't need to mention me but thank you anyway

You are a talented artist! x
