Digital Nightmare Chapter 8
I leaned back into the firm chair, sighing with comfort. The room was a little small, sure; but it had a nice quaint feel to it which I liked. I had located an elderly couple a few miles out of town who were kind enough to let me stay in their guest house. They also had an independent internet connection; so Creepyplier would have a hard time tracking me here. To my right was a very comfortable futon; which was the reason I chose this room to sleep in, I loved futons. There was also a small trunk for my clothes, and a separate doorway leading to a private bathroom. The rest of the building featured another bedroom, a kitchen, a living room, a pantry, and a small breakfast nook. It was so obvious of a hiding place that it was the least place any of the monsters expected to look for me; at least as far as I could tell. I had already set up my laptop and other supplies, and had stuffed the spare room with whatever other weapons and tools I could find; in c

When the door closed behind us, we found ourselves at some kind of starting point. Before us were several modes of transportation, from bikes to wheelchairs to lawn mowers; and even a Santa sled.
“Aw, fudge nutters. It’s happy wheels.” Mark grumbled. I gulped and looked amongst all the transportation vehicles.
“One of the most brutal games out there, with plenty of gore and bloodshed.” I said. “Which ride do you think is the safest?”
“In this game? None.” Mark said. “Well, maybe Santa’s position in his sled, but sometimes random c*** flies everywhere and hits him.
“Well that’s when I’ll duck.” I said, climbing into the seat and taking hold of the reins. In an instant Mark teleported to the sled right next to me, and we were each in our own Santa outfit.
“Now this is more like it.” Mark said, watching as rando

I opened my eyes, long grass meeting my stare. The side of my face felt like it was on something soft, and I could tell I was laying on top of something.
“Ugh, what happened?” Mark asked, sounding to be in front of me. I looked up at Mark, finding him facing away from me. I glanced down to look at his feet and I shrieked in terror.
“CHEEZ-ITS AND RICE, WHAT THE HECK?!” I shouted. Mark had turned into a male centaur. He tried to turn around to face me, but only his front legs moved, making him trip. We were suddenly set back to our starting position, and I was still screaming.
“Shut up! You’re hurting my ears!!” He shouted, covering his ears with his hands and stomping one of his front hooves. I stopped screaming to take a breath, and I began to hyperventilate.
“Mark.” I said, panting and sitting up. “You’re a freaking cent

Mark returned a few moments later, a few bottles of laudanum in his arms. He stuffed some in the side of my bag and opened one of the bottles for me. Grabbing a pillow from the couch, he elevated my head a bit as he helped me drink the laudanum. We both looked down when I managed to finish the bottle, expecting me to heal at least a bit immediately. But the most that happened was the blood flow slowed down.
“But… it worked on you.” I said, my voice low.
“It must work differently for you.” Mark said. “Ok, so Ladaunadum for healing you is out; we need to find an alternate healing source. In the meantime…” Mark threw away the bottle and looked around his room, opening his closet and taking out one of his shirts. Before I could say anything, he tore it in half, turning it into a long and thick strip of material. He then grabbed a different shirt and
