Sherlock Holmes Preview and Steps Tutorial by RoryonaRainbow Sherlock Holmes Preview and Steps Tutorial by RoryonaRainbow

Full size is highly recommended.

Some steps of my new Sherlock painting. :w00t:

Traditional artwork with watercolors, watercolor - and colored pencils, pastels, oil-pastels and ink.
I will upload the finished painting to my gallery too the next days. It is dedicated to *jessoterick. ♥

Incidentally, I still collect llamas! I think with all this English here, I deserve one. :hooray:

What brand of white ink do you use?? I can't seem to get white ink to show up opaque enough over the rest of the colors...

Hmm, I think it looked best before you've begun with the coat. Don't get me wrong, the background is also very well done but it's so colourful that it distracts from the face.

Wow! So beautiful. But such a long and advanced process. At least it seems like it. I wish I could paint like that but I think I stick to my simpler painting technique. At least for now. Amazing work though and nice of you to make a tutorial of it. :)

thanks for the tips! Especially the one about regular graphite pencils and watercolor! I started one of my art class' alter book letters and i ended using a regular pencil to do the outline of a bird and of course when i used the watercolor, the graphite stayed or ruined a part of the picture.
