Turn of Events
The Light Train stopped in a barren wasteland. Kaylin beckoned for it to come back, hoping to push forward, but she knew, at this point, she was being too hopeful. Darus stood in front of her, holding the blue and white ribbon from her memory between his right thumb and index finger.
"You remember this?" Darus mocked.
"Vaguely." Kaylin tried searching her memory for more answers, but found nothing.
"This...is the Zephyr Key. You were not supposed to possess it, but you were chosen as its rightful owner, and you don't even know its full potential like I do." A purple aura surrounded Darus, making the barren wastleland turn into a dark abyss. "Zephyrs are enchanced with this, as you can tell."
"If it chose me, why do you possess it?" Kaylin asked nastily.
"When you left, it chose a new owner. Me." Darus smirked, the dark abyss contorting itself into what one would assume was his imagination - Statues of him filled the roads and squares, and a lone dark edifice hovered over everything. "This is what will happen when you are gone."
"Don't listen to him, Kaylin!" A familiar voice came out of the sky. "The Zephyr Key is mine!"
"Jackson," Kaylin mumbled under her breath. "Jackson, what do you mean?!" she cried, looking around for him.
"Silence!" Darus boomed.
"Darus stole the Zephyr Key from me, you told me to hold onto it in your absence!"
Kaylin turned towards Darus and stuck out her right hand, the Zephyr Key vibrating, the abyss disintegrating back into the Wasteland, the Key returned to Kaylin.
"All according to plan," Darus hissed. "Jackson, now!"
Jackson slowly descended from the sky and lightly tapped Kaylin's hand. He began to glow all magnificent colors, then opened up his hands and pressed down hard onto Kaylin's, turning the Key into dust.
"And now begins...your worst nightmare." Darus chuckled, a swarm of energy flowing over Darus.
The Light Train appeared, running full speed into the Gate, but couldn't break through. Darus' power was now too strong, and Kaylin realized this was the end.

just words
The truth is
I dont just miss you
I miss the person I am with you
I am different when you are here
I am different when you arent
Its not about being together
Or happily ever afters
Its about waking up and knowing
You are in my corner
There were a lot of truths in those last words
Tossing out that box of old hurts and regrets was necessary.
The problem is, there were other boxes
A friendship and trust that had developed
A bond that we didn't resurrect..but that we created and protected from everyone but ourselves
You are bigger than the puzzle piece
That fell out when you left
I am more than the sum of my parts
But Im not the answer I've b

Home.
The night is pitch-black all around, save for the uncountable mass of stars winking benevolently at me from the tarp of deepest indigo that hangs overhead. Everything feels suspended in that momentthe stars, the crescent moon, the sparse, gray-black clouds, this little island called Earth, and even myself. It feels as if my feet don't even touch the ground.
I feel as if I'm falling into them, the stars. There are so many of them, filling my field of vision, that I am taken by a sudden bout of dizziness and fall back into the Earth's gentle embrace. In response she twirls me around playfully, pulling me into a slow-motion

I lack the feeling of touch.
I grasp at any warmth
Of voices, of eyes
I am a thief of kind words not meant for me.

The cherry tree bloomed while I wasn’t looking.
I retreat into wires and lies
My veins carry dust and my soul is heavy
The small petals are so much of my past.

I break promises to myself.
But I also break silences
And lost causes meant to be found
I have learned that I breathe the power to heal.

Friends can come and go and return.
I keep their laughs with me because
Stories last forever, right?
Words can outlive bone and page and stone.
