Your gallery is by far one of the most overwhelming I've seen on this site. The detail is simply mind blowing. The fact that this work can come from a single person is rather astounding. What mediums do you use? There is a such a distinct clarity in the pieces, I have to imagine it's some kind of carving. And do you sketch you pieces before the finalized process?
Thank you for your praise, it adds up to quite a few images when you share it on this site for almost ten years and maintain a certain productivity.
The technique is called scratchboard. So it's actually a kind of carving. I also have the possibility with the material to draw over it again with ink. More on my page: https://www.recknitzthal.de/de/faq/
Really amazing work. I've actually used scratch board, but it's been over twenty years, and I've never seen work on scratch board as detailed or meticulous as yours. To be honest, I didn't even know that level of work with scratchboard was even possible. I'm now very inspired to buy some and give it another try.
