Description
I painted this as a homage to the song "Kutonet Pasim" (a coat of many colors) written by Meir Ariel, Composed by Arkadi Duchin, produced by Galei Tzahal in 1995, and was recorded by many of Israeli singers of different genres.
We need to celebrate the differences between us. The combination of different colors, voices, and flavors make a whole larger than the sum of it's parts.
Israel is not a melting pot. Israel is a lot of diverse amazing cultures that combines and create a new thing and new things.
Diversity is not only in ethnic origin, gender, religion or opinion. It's also in the many different experiences that can improve any group or organization that tries to make our lives better.
In food and music we seem to understand it. And this is what this painting is about.
I wanted to represent the great potential that a heterogeneous society has when it celebrates its variety and diversity.
This should all be obvious to anyone who ever ate Falafel with sour cabbage and French fries
Happy new (Jewish) year!
