The New Kipper by RonanL10 The New Kipper by RonanL10
14 vans long. Haha if I was still able to make episodes and used the flying kipper in one, I'd have it at this length, if spaces of sets allowed it.

Always did like the strength of the Hornby range :)

It's quite interesting. Hornby has apparently thought to bring back the Thomas range to celebrate the 70th Anniversary. Though dunno if it's just gonna be a relaunch of their existing products again....…

'Fraid it is, it's just the first six engines, only difference being the price :P (About half of what they used to be!)
Damocles178 Featured By Owner Jun 9, 2015
Ha; well half the price ain't bad given the bloomin' fortune they used to be (Especially Gordon) lol Even so it's a shame they aren't bringing in anything new.....

Honestly even a limited edition Thomas in his LBSC livery from the adventure begins would've been nice. In fact woulda been perfect!

I had thought for a while they were gonna reintroduce them with CGI styled faces for some reason.
^ I'm suprised they havent had the initiative to make a Den at least, given they threw out several colours of his basis a while ago. Not too sure what they have in general since I stopped buying the catalogues xD

Right enough! For some of their models they didn't even seem to care about a proper basis (Notably Edward and Emily) but yet right now they have the perfect tooling to make Den. If they just tone the details on the model down and give it similiar treatment to the Hornby railroad range; I'd say they could make a fine model for him :)

Edward and Emily if you ask me were definetly a rush to get a whole 'Steam Team' done. When they came out it was around the time HIT were really emphasizing 1-7 + Emily so Hornby probably felt lacking without two of them.
Adding to that it'd seem strange to have a Dart without Den given the two of them are literally paired side by side all the time.

Good point. Their association would be second only to any of the twins on Sodor such as Arry and Bert. Speaking of those two because Hornby now owns Lima; they own their tooling and would have access to the old Class 08 Lima did. I wouldn't expect Hornby to use their latest Class 08 Tooling for them (Unless they can tone it down to make it cheaper) but the lima tooling might be a good alternative.
Hornby themselves never made a Class 40 but the Class 40 that existed in their railroad range originated from Lima tooling; that's one example of them using old tooling from lima

That's what the old Lima 08 looks like if you're curious :)

Wish I had that instead of the Diesel, Arry nd Bert models, heha its outside motion puts Hornby's old one to shame. As you've said before they should really reintroduce Diesel etc with the newer tooling :)

That's quite a long train!  Great work!
Great stuff as always mate. What are the dimensions of your baseboard?
RonanL10 Featured By Owner Aug 6, 2014
I'll get the actual dimensions for you later, once I manage to find a measuring tape lying around somewhere.... D:
What I can tell you for now is that, taking the Gordon's express coaches, it's 5 of them in length, and 7 in width. I'll get the actual dimensions as soon as i can :)
