first thing in the morning

I love the early mornings that January brings, and staying in my warm bed anyway. Waking up wishing for snow every day, tea instead of coffee, quiet days and a new love for woolen sweaters.

Moody, wistful and comforting... Three words that define your photography, and they shine particularly bright in this lovely still life. Here is quiet mastery in the faultless composition and the slight difference in focus between cup and pot and the rest of the setting. Here too is sensibility in the apt choice of coarse wood and fir branches to embody the spirit of the month. First-rate, and enough to make one sorry winter has gone already.

So pretty! I think I'm ready to brew some tea for myself now.

Lovely photograph. What are those dark-brown citruses?

Is kettle tea an option for you? Ever since I switched to kettle sorts of tea, I can't bring myself to drink tea from the bags. Kettle tea still has a taste as strong and zesty as you like, yet it's different: it's natural, with no artificial taste enhancers we're getting so used to in civilized countries.

They are dried lemons and oranges that I used to decorate our christmas presents. :aww:

I love kettle tea! It's just that there are some tea bags which mixtures I really, really like, so I don't feel like giving up on them. I always make sure not to buy tea that has any artificial flavours or colouring in them, though!

How do you decorate presents with dried citruses?

You can see what we did here. :aww:

Indeed. Looks pretty, especially with all the coffee and wood colors around.
