Snuggle Purr returned to the room after a couple minutes, bringing the other models and a middle-aged woman. Despite her feline features, the Blue Talon agents could see similarities between the woman and their friend, from her light brown hair to her sharp cheekbones. Jan nodded and nudged his cousin. Darren brought the jump jet to land on the tarmac. His cheek tensed as he noticed through the corner of his eye that his cousin was grabbing his seatbelt in a white-knuckled grip. Granted, his experience with the Wasteland Warrior Expeditions' dropship (they never named it) and the Iron Osprey was vertical take off and landing, but Darren trained for standard descent and taxi landings, too. This wasn't the first time he did this... It was just the first time outside of a simulation. He brought the nose up, decelerated the craft and checked the gauges. With the way he could turn his two arms into more (by extending his fingers into long, prehensile tentacles), it was no problem to adjust all the levers, dials and switches on the fly. Blizzard's primary skill relied on ranged combat. He had trained himself to hurl ice and "cold energy" (as it was magic, that was apparently how it worked) at his foes to bludgeon and encase them. As fire was volatile it usually couldn't resist his attacks, though it could break free pretty quickly. What Blizzard usually had the most problem with was other meta humans using ice powers. Hm... What to say?

I suppose I like to think of myself as a moderate thinker. I've seen enough extremism, both internationally and personally, to realize that this world needs more people who are willing to sit down, listen, and work together.

My musical tastes drift toward stuff with a lot of energy. My favorite bands remain Nothingface, Fear Factory and Bad Religion consistently. If there's music I need to set me in a proper mood, they're the ones I turn to, for they've run the gamut of sensation.

Artistically... I'm terrible. I'm a writer, not a drawer or painter. I can come up with plenty of concepts and bring the events to motion in prose, but when it comes to getting what I'm visualizing to paper... Well, you can see the art I'm capable of in my gallery.

So, it's my birthday today. It's been a bit of an up-and-down week. On the one hand, I've got solid footing on a new job. I'm basically waiting for a background check to finish, and that's probably waiting on the results of my drug test. I'm sure it'll be fine, I don't use narcotics. However, as I was leaving the testing site, my truck's transmission died, stranding me on the side of the road. I got help from my father to get home and had the vehicle towed to a service center, but they told me the problem and what parts and cost would be: $7,000. Leasing a new vehicle is out of the question right now, and roadside specials that could be trustworthy would probably set me back just as much. I'm getting really tired of the spambots showing up on my writing, regurgitating a sentence that talks about how "interesting," "intense," "exciting," "evocative" or whatever adjective their AI spam generator thinks will catch my attention and then asking if I ever thought of making a comic, storyboard or other work of art to go along with it. Of course I would like to commission art, but I can't afford it right now and I CERTAINLY am not reaching out to an AI slop content creator to make any art of my creations! If I wanted that, I could hop on FireflyAI and do it MYSELF! DeviantArt has been catching and deleting these accounts and I haven't been commissioning any of these losers, but I'm getting really tired of seeing it.
