Another sad thing; this was the first episode I wrote with knowing Luke was my partner specifically in mind...and it's pretty much me talking non stop with Luke just acting like a infomercial character. I wonder what that says about me?
Anyway, sorry Luke. I'll give you your own chapter later.
Since this is about comedy workings and visuals, it would make sense for me to talk anyway, as Luke only...err..Graduated from film school. Oops.

Jup, quite a few years ago. Glad to hear!

In part 3, the British fox taught me how to write a story. Now I know what to do when I am doing Sonic cartoons in the future. Thanks guys!

seriously, "clobbering" three times? At least switch up your vocab Sonic.

I seriously love you guys. You make so much sense. XD (and you make points! not just opinions! YES!)

I think Sonic's constant use of clobbering is somehow part of the construction of his joke, but don't ask me how.

Yeah, I prefer arguments and points over opinions. Naked opinions are boring.

I had a feeling that it was, but... the joke just fell... flat.

I just have to say, your series is brilliant!

I know I'm asking this consistly (whateva the word is) but I honestly believe you should work at SEGA. Your dissections are very thought provoking and proves how Sonic Team is failing. And I get you. I now understand why some people think my comics are really boring. BECAUSE I HAVE BORING BACKGROUNDS! *ahem* So, will you consider it?

Heh, first of all, getting a job as videogame writer is a dream job. That is, everyone would want it, it probably doesn't exist, so it's not much something "I'd consider" as that it's an impossible fairytale.
Might as well "consider" becoming a milionaire videogame player or something.

Second, I think the main problem with the writing in SOnic games is that there's too much meddling with it. Sonic Colors and Chronicles feel like a lot of plot segments were cut or changed.
So it might not be just the writers.
As I don't have a very strong self esteem, my story would become a mess too if a lot of people would start meddling with it.

And thid, just because I'm good in spotting flaws and seeing how things tick doesn't entirely mean i'm capable of writing good stories.
My own work has a lot of flaws and I'm still learning as well.

So nah, don't get your hopes up.
Besides, I don't need to become Sega's writer since I can just go ahead and make any SOnic movie I want all by myself anyway.

I understand. I don't really mind as well, because I can't write well wither, but I can help and put the pieces together. It's just my nature. Anyway, don't you wish SEGA saw this? How do you think they would react? I have enough audacity to do that, but I don't know their address. :(

I make this more to educate fans then Sega themselves. The writers might be interested but powerless to do much about it and the people with power probably don't care.

Educating the fans... doesn't matter, because some of those fans might turn out to be a future writers or employees for SEGA. Maybe they'll write according to your principles, who knows what may happens.

if you want another reason to bash colors, which i approve you continue to do,
before release it was stated by sonic team before the release, sonic colors was aimed at little children like 3 - 6 years old, but my 3 years old nephew got bored out of his mind in any cutscene other than the opening music video.

not to mention the level design it has a sadistic difficulty curve, at the candy planet ( whatever it's named ), the first 2 or 3 levels are ok, then it starts getting harder and harder but it's still acceptable, then the other planets open and in the first level of the super colored animal carnival space ships... zone it suddenly got so difficult that it already became impossible for my nephew to proceed.
and my nephew not once realized they were in an actual park of any kind, at best he said that the roller coaster ride level was LIKE a theme park, other than there there wasn't a single attraction depicted in the game, of course there's the first boss who is like a ferris wheel ( which btw ends up being repeated later because apparently designing bosses is too difficult for sonic team ) but I'd expect to see people dying if the ferris wheel suddenly turned into a blood thirsty robot shooting laser beams. where are the others in that park anyway.

the way they speak with their body the same they are talking about, I imagine it happens to express better to children who might not understand it what they are talking about, but if a child didn't understand that much, I don't think it would be playing the game in first place, also, they speak about power generators, translators, and some rather complex stuff, so like you said, without proper visuals it's all 'Sonic and Tails stood there and bla bla bla then sonic ran'

oh and sonic fangs in sonic adventure were pretty cool, if you guys want to make fun of something, look at his eyelashes in that same custscene in sonic adventure ( not DX ) they're possibly bigger than rouge's

Yeah, makign the story for kids is anotehr reason to have more stuff happening otehr then just talking in cutscenes.

Out of all Sonic games appealing to kids, I think it's ironically Shadow the hedgehog that succeeds the most. Maybe not 3-6 kids, but 7- 15 kids love all the "darkness" and violence and over the top "Screw the world" attitude. Much more then adults do anyway.

It's no wonder most die hard Shadow fanboys/ girls are so young.

Quick question: Speaking of your bait and switch earlier, are you going to get to Shadow and his game, or are you planning to leave us hanging on that one?
Rogerregorroger's avatar
RogerregorrogerHobbyist Filmographer
I have a chapter on Shadow's game, yes.

These are really enjoyable dissections of Sonic's games. Are you guys going to eventually do the other characters such as Tails,Knuckles,Cream, etc. That is after you're done with the games themselves. The Amy one was interesting.

How long does it take for you to do these videos?
Rogerregorroger's avatar
RogerregorrogerHobbyist Filmographer
Tails, Blaze, nega, Elise, Knuckles, Charmie, Eggman and Shadow will be talked about, some more then the others.
Altough most only in parts of a chapter. Only Shadow and Eggman could have their own chapter, tough depends on how much material I can come up with.

That's cool. I can wait.Shame about Amy's personality in the games.
