Description

So the other day I dreamt of a Xenomorph floating inside a spaceship in 0 gravity that entered a chamber and then there was blood splattered out of the entrance. It was pretty cool, then I must have read something and felt like drawing xenomorphs.
I never could find a picture like this, a guide in a uniform style that showed all of their different forms.
This are the "basic" human hosted aliens. Other types of alien-related creatures have been seen in the media, but here there are no weird experiments (like the Rogue or the Newborn) or breeds with any non-human host (like the predalien or the runner)

I think this is one of the largest, most detailed drawings I made so far. I think I should go back to shading or painting right? more impressive than just line drawings? I think I'm over doing this.
Anyway, it's an interesting note that I also did this in a single day. Thats right I started around 15:00 and then in the evening I kept drawing while watching God, The Devil & Bob (as in, the entire series) until about 4:00 in the morning. I was in a trance or something right about the end.

1- The egg.. it comes out of the queen.

2- The standard facehugger.

3- The controversial super facehugger. It did appear in the third movie but it was not called as such. Believed to be the only way through which queens are born... but then on AVPR we see a queen comming out of a predalien that was caught by a regular facehugger.
Well, at least we can say that the super facehugger might carry more than one embryo, from which one happened to be a queen.. or maybe is more likely to be.
Anyway, it's also very likely that strong aliens might turn into queens if there is none around, like Specimen 6 did.

4- Chestburster (minimal bursting development)

a) My theory is that since some aliens are born with little arms
thats the first thing to develop outside the host if born, like in the first movie, without them.

b) Then the legs, a few more are also born with crawling legs, like the runner and the queen.

c) And this one is never show, but I guess it must have existed. It's basically a "xenomorph child" in which the hind legs are strong enough to sustain the entire weight (unlike the previous crawler stage)but still has to grow and shred some skins.

5- The Drone as seen in the movie Alien.

6- The warrior as seen in subsecuent movies, stronger tail with larger blade, longer fingers, ridged head.

7- The Queen Chestburster. It would porbably undego a development like a) b) c) but with a crest and end up becoming a praetorian instead of a drone or warrior.

8 - A large praetorian...
It also gets a little confusing here, according to the AVPR (I hate to think of it as canon..) the predalien there was one of these, probably a small and young one, and was considered a young queen. That why it has that weird method of introducing embryos without facehuggers..
Now if this is true that means under proper conditions regular aliens can become pratorians and then queens.. or something like that.
BUT in Alien Resurection we have a queen that was born as such in her own caste and had the distinctive crest even when she was inside Ripley.. so maybe boths methods are valid?
Maybe queens can be born from special embryos or 'ascended'
from lower castes.

9- A small queen. As seen in Aliens.

10- The empress as seen.. hmn.. well the one in the first AVP movie was probably a small empress or a large queen, or maybe an empress IS just an old, large queen. Any way.

I hope you enjoyed.

PS: should I rise the contrast?, it looked decent in this computer but it was all to lighted up at home, are you sure you can all see the details clearly?
