Motivational sandwich with a side of humble pie.
It's been a really long time since my last post.
Without making too many excuses 2020 was just an awful year on many levels and I think I've been a little depressed. But being a little depressed is like being a little unemployed. You really must recognize and acknowledge your situation or things will only get worse.
So here I am ignoring all my projects, telling myself I'll get to them eventually, when a package arrives. On the package is a bad-ass sketch of the Vindicators! "What could this be?"
I opened it up to find an inspirational delivery fresh out the oven from my man, ADE-doodles.
You see, Doodles entered the MOCC² competition, but was unable to finish in time for the judging. He said he would finish it some day and not only did so, but dude when and had it printed! and it looks AWESOME!
For those who haven't seen this fantastic entry you can see most of it here- https://www.deviantart.com/ade-doodles/gallery/72136177/mocc2-lepex-force-majeure-comic

Gary 'HulkDaddyG' Pope Tribute
Update: Checkout Gilead's new profile page on Vindicatorsgo.com
Hey everybody, I've been meaning to write this journal entry for a while now, but I just haven't been able to manage it until now. I had knee surgery at the start of the year and unfortunately it did not go well. I went in for a meniscus repair and wound up getting a meniscectomy which is a complete removal of the meniscus. The result was me on my back in agony for the last four months. This would not have been so bad if I could have done some artwork but I just couldn’t focus through the pain and the drugs. Bad times.
Then I got the news that my friend Gary (Hulkdaddy G) Pope had passed. Those of you that follow me regularly are probably aware of Gary's page and our friendship.
But for those who don't... Gary and I met here on DA years ago when he reached out as Vindicator fan. I didn't realize how much of a fan until he traveled to New York Comic Con for the Vindicators debut. Even then he was
Happy New Year, Into the Spiderverse, Music Video
Firstly, Happy New Year every one! All the best to you all in this new year! 2018 was kind of a crumby year and I'm determined to make 2019 a better one. Into the Spider-verse I saw Into the Spider-verse a couple of days ago and I have to say it's the best animated superhero movie I've ever seen! It may be my favorite animated movie period. I'm still geeking so that might change, but right now I'm still loving it. Everything from character design to musical score is Amazing! (pun intended) The animation is breathtaking and innovative and the story moved me to tears. I highly recommend it for any comic lover, see it on the big screen! ...
Stan Lee, the passing of a Legend
Stan Lee 1922-2018 Happy Adventuring, Stan!
Excelsior! ----------------------------------------------------------Hi Guys, I know it's been a while since I've posted a journal of any substance but it's not because I've been foolin' around. I've been in the lab swamped with projects and some are about to come alive ! I'm going to start with what I like to call my motion comic proof of concept.
Some of you may have seen this already, but for those who missed it, a while back :iconjoemdavis: was doing these great Screengrab illustrations. I've always admired Joe's style so I asked him to do The Vindicators up for me. They came out great, s...

Brightburn looks interesting,
Superman as Psycho does make some sense. But Superman as outlined by Bill in "Kill Bill" i think is much more compelling. And frankly plays into the "superior" man/race idea of the time. But the "power corrupts" idea is something that the traditional Superman myth doesn't explore much. But it seems to me Superman stands more on the historical Messiah archetype. (like many aspects of most superheroes... heroes in general).
But this Brightburn concept reminds me of Dragonball. Maybe the kid needs a knock in the head to straiten him out.
And also have you read the comic "Invincible"? The Superman trope is worked with there in a fun way... not horror but, pretty strait but often harsh super heroics. Very cool series.
but yeah.. seems like it might be cool.
