The Roses Died...

Description

ok this one came about with me tidying out the cupboards and finding a whole bunch of pressed roses in a book - so i had a bright idea to try to make a pretty picture with them
fortunately in my tidying out i found out an old leather covered chair where the leather is all weathered and cracked so i used that for a more interesting background and it fitted perfectly with the withered flowers - decided to make them stand out some to remove all the colour apart from the red highlights on the petals
enjoy

I think this is a fantastic idea; the texture and the tone of the photograph is wonderful, and both completely suit the tone of the roses death. The silver stems contrast well with the black background, and again highlight the roses. One idea could be contrasting the dead roses on top of something else that was very much alive, for instance grass, in order to form a sharper feel to it. This could also make the whole concept a lot darker. However, this could perhaps ruin the stark simplicity of the photograph. Either or, a really original idea, and a great photo.
