Description
This is something I had in my head for a long time. As you can see, it's the hypothetical box art for a video game adaptation of Spider-Gwen.
If you don't know who Spider-Gwen is, I'll tell you. In the Marvel Multiverse' Earth-65, instead of Peter Parker getting bitten by a radioactive spider and gaining superpowers, it was Gwen Stacy, who went to high school with Peter in this timeline. In this timeline, Peter actually became The Lizard in a bid to become special, like Gwen. Gwen had to fight Peter in this scenario, and while she managed to beat him, she also ended up killing him. I think his final words to her were that he wanted to be special like her. Either way, I believe that from that point on, Gwen decided she would use her powers for the good of the city.
I think I actually got the idea for the box art first, before I had an idea of what I wanted the game to be. As a result, I didn't really draw this picture for a while. I tried to have some idea, but nothing just seemed right. To me, a Spider-Gwen game would just be a Spider-Man game, only with Spider-Gwen as the protagonist. In the end, I settled on the idea that Peter Parker as The Lizard would be one of the game's earlier boss fights.
Now, in my head, I thought Spider-Gwen would look bigger. However, I went with this smaller look, I think because I'm used to scaling down characters to fit "the game" under the main title. Speaking of, I couldn't decide if I wanted "The Game" or "Videogame" under the main title of this picture, so I left it for quite a while, to the point that I already drew the moon by the time I just decided to go with "The Game". I was also worried that the viewers couldn't see the black lettering against the dark blue sky, but after seeing this picture I did-> www.deviantart.com/rock-raider… , I decided my fears were unfounded. While I tried to keep the windows on the building on the left lined up, I just lost the patience for it, so they're pretty sloppy, as you can see. And for the building on the right, despite trying to keep them all straight, I failed on that endeavour too.
The pictures I used for reference can be found here.
