I'm so glad I finally found a good reference for a low angle view of a rotating head! This should really help for compositions in which one character is looking up at something! Keep up the good work!

such great quality work! Thank you for your references; i'm thumbing through your entire gallery and am finding a lot of invaluable stock I couldn't find elsewhere. Of course, i'll credit you for your work if I use it for anything other than merely practice doodles in my sketchbook. Thank you so much again! :D

The lighting is a tad dark in this one, but it'll make for interesting shadows.
Reply
:iconrobynrose:
RobynRose Featured By Owner May 14, 2012
I did it this way because I had requests from traditional artists and painters who like deeper shadows so that their art has a more 3D effect. I hope to have a balanced gallery of both natural sunlight pictures and directionally lit ones.

Ah, now I see. I wasn't totally sure. But the shadows aren't bad. If anything, they help with showing the contours of the face. And that /is/ a good idea, to have different lightings. It makes everyone happy.

It great! I don't see any yellowish tones, so it's not too hot.
this will be a great reference for shadow shapes, because not always an artist is able to shoot a reference with good light. I think you got it just right =)
Playing with shadow shapes and light shapes in a picture is very important for artist. Now you are is the best stock for me not only for figure posture ref, but for the light\shadow too =D

It's one of the better head references out there! I would love you forever if you found a male friend and made a similar set with him.
