Sorry about the title... I'm a drama queen
OK, so for a while there on my first run, I was getting a bit dragged down.
The 2 stories I was working on, Prisoner and Road Rage, were not giving me the job satisfaction I needed. Prisoner was taking way too long because of an epic gladiatorial gauntlet fight scene that I had committed to. I created a ton of sweet-ass gladiator beauties to kill, but I still wanted to take the time to show them all off. Road Rage was working up to a 4 girl high school football team taking on a full male HS football team. The logistics were rather daunting.
So yes, I was slowing down, dragging my feet, frustrated at my own big ideas and the amount of work it would take to commit to them.
Then... the computer died.
Oh, I had backups, in fact, the backups were better than the one that crashed... but for some stupid reason I never backed up all the files. You have no clue how much work ... and ingenuity utilized to keep from doing even more work, went into making all the facets of that big-ass gladiator arena, the crowd, all the characters, the objects, structures, textures, props, weapons... and how proud I was of hacking together that massive set. The world never even got to see my bisected gopher (basically a scrawny arena attendant who got too close to the fight and ended up sliced from the top of his skull to his waistline... with the top halves all flopping around and stuff... yeah... it would have been cool as F).
Cue five years of "fuck that."
Until a few weeks back. I found a muse. Fired up my runtime. Started... not so much fresh, but building off the salvage. Starting up all the old laptops to recover lost characters, updating the 'ol Daz Studio, screwing around with the new features. Bringing my muse to vision. Rediscovering why I loved this stuff so much in the first place.
So let's see where these feetses will take me THIS time...
