"霜梅玉 (Shuang Meiyu) is one of the Four Gods of Wudang, with the seat of the Palegreen Dragon. She the youngest in recorded history to qualify as a Master class exponent, and is rumored to be on track to inherit the currently vacant position of Wudang Headmaster. However, one's first impression of her is that of a delicate and soft spoken girl despite her well known and battle-tested martial prowess. Hence her unofficial title of The Submerged Dragon."
-Excerpt from the 6th Volume of The Chronicles of JiangHu
Wow! A third update in a week! What's going on??!!! I don't know if I can keep this up since I have a lot of real life stuff to take care of next week so don't expect 3 updates a week as the norm.
I had a lot of fun painting this piece. I used everything I learned from working on the last couple of raffle prizes to create the final look. I finally got around to messing around with various ink brushes and after a ton of experimentation found a few brushes and a method that gives the effect I want. Its not all quite there yet but I'm probably going to edit some of the brushes to see if I can get closer when I try this style again. Meiyu is the third girl from my inked wuxia designs from last year:
Her demeanor has changed a lot, because as the story evolved her personality no longer fit the look I had initially designed. Going forward I'm planning to do all future Wuxia related pieces in this style. The style I used for Hu-er and Yuzu will be kept for VRO though, so if you're a fan of that style don't fret!
