I've been pretty busy this past month so I haven't had time to draw until now. I wanted to showcase something before getting started on the prizes for the raffle, so I took a pencil sketch I made from 2011 and 'updated' it with everything I've learned since then. I really love the monochromatic works of nakanoart
, especially those with the glowy features and decided to try to do a study of that technique. I hope you don't mind.
Noel is an OC I've had since high school. She's gone through a number of name and appearance changes over the years. She started out as an angel brandishing a greatsword, then later became an operative using pistols and sniper rifles. It wasn't until college that I finalized her concept and put her into my sci-fi/magic hybrid world of Twelve Guilds. I pretty much worked on that for all of college and most of grad school. She ended up becoming a mage because the setting was somewhat centered around a magic school (Harry Potter was a huge influence during that time period >.<)
Unfortunately even though I spent a lot of time developing all sorts of specifics for the characters and history of the world of Twelve Guilds it never went anywhere because I didn't really have a great story to tell with it. So Twelve Guilds was eventually shelved. I created VRO and Companion of the Moonlit blade with those lessons in mind
