I understand, but I personally don't like the idea of Judy and Nick quitting and going "private detective". To sit in an office waiting for someone to walk in and ask for proof of his/her spaus's unfaithfulness? That's not what Judy wants. She wants to be out there roaming the streets for either helping grandmas cross the street or running after muggers. She legally can't do that as a civilian, and I don't want Zootopia to become a superhero story with vigilantes, we have the Incredibles for that.
you need to look up more wholesome cops moments, like the cop that adopted the kid that was saved from an abusive household, or the cop that bought the kid who had his bike stolen a new bike, or the cops that save kids by jumping after them into rivers, or cops that put other power-mad cops under arrest for abusing suspects.
Sadly negative media spreads faster and gets more engagement, and because news-stations are quicker to jump on stories involving bad cops, people easily and wrongly get the impression that there are no good cops at all.
The world isn't black and white
I sadly disagree with that. I believe that current problems in the US justice system shouldn't influence the events and systems of a fantasy world. Situation is that people love Batman and though cops like dirty harry, but real vigilantes or cops that don't follow the rules just to get justice done are highly condemned in real life. But that doesn't mean that watching them is not entertaining and thought-provoking.
I am already pretty sad that we aren't going to see Nick in his uniform because they supposedly got promoted to detectives. Getting that badge and uniform for a fox was a huge personal achievement in the first movie. Judy too, seeing her without her jumpsuit and badge on her chest is like seeing Superman without the red cape and S on his chest, the character looses a fundamental symbol it suppose to represent.
Judy and Nick represent fictional, more ideal versions of what cops should be in the real world. People that make citizens feel safe with their presence and are always ready to help with anything. Its good that you disliked Bogo, because that was the point of the story too. Even Bogo disliked his earlier self by the end, its why he changed attitude and tried to joke with Nick and Judy. I don't believe in ruining this message that promotes character growth and self-betterment, a message that cops need to do better, and aim to SERVE the people instead of themselves.
