Another render of Poserworks' model of the Disney/Harper Goff Nautilus.
Big thanks to Steve Burg for his rivets texture tweak!

That's a beautiful version of the Naultilus there, and always great to see the lovely lady going forward in all her captains beliefs.

Heh... well the sun shining through the water is one of the few bits here that I DIDN'T craft.
But I guess I can take some pride in using it well? ;)

I think this is one of the best Nautilus models ever made, even if it doesnt fit the description of Jules Verne, but a cigar shaped Nautilus would be boring. This thing was steam-punk before steam-punk was invented.
An archaic organic shape, made of metal and brought to life through the power of the human mind, created to transport one mans vengeance... fascinating!

Nemo is a character as interesting as Robur, and his marvelous invention the "Terror", I have drawn a few sketches for the "Terror" but i find it extremely hard to make something that looks menacing with those foldable Wings of cloth.

The texture tweak plus the use of this angle seem to make quite a difference in how the Nautilus looks. I was going to say it made the ship more "realistic", but I think "believable" is more the correct term. This has been rendered well enough that I do expect to see someone moving inside, peering out through the windows.

Mostly Steve's tweak made the rivets more prominent and rounded. But yeah - lotsa nice details in the model even "right outta the box".

With those lumpy things I'm thinking she must have made a horrible racket under way, audible to any with ears to hear. Not to mention Nemo's organ playing...
