Okay, deviantART. If you would prefer that I -- a transgendered person -- delete my account rather than stay, participate, and increase your ad revenue, I can do that. Sure, no problem.

Lets talk about names.
This is a conversation I've had far too many times:
'Hi, my name is Duckie!'
'Yes, but what's your real name?'
My name is Duckie. For most intents and purposes, it is my real name. It's the one everyone important knows me by; it's the one I answer to.
It isn't my legal name; the name my mother gave me because she thought it was pretty girl's name. It is a pretty name, but it isn't mine. People calling me by that name makes me want to vomit.
