Longtime artist, sculptor and modelmaker (well, professionally since '82). See website for job history.
Moved to Florida from California where I worked in the film, TV & Theme Park indusrty in set construction, faux finishes & miniatures as well as precision models for architects and engineering. I job shopped most of the major studios & visual special effects houses (before computer graphics took over), Disney Imagineering modelshop, Landmark Entertainment themepark modelshop, Warner Bro Six Flags theme models, as well as theater sets & attraction props at Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure.
Most of the design is computer CGI nowadays and they like to pre cut so much on rapid prototype CNC mills. Saves some time on the front end, but costs far more on a 'per hour' basis than the smaller mom & pop shops like mine. I still like working with my hands rather than clicking a mouse, so cheers to old school craftsmanship!
Nothing here in my page is laser cut, programmed, CNC, CAD, or rapid prototyping, just "old school" power tools.
