When Dr. Robert Ballard found the wreckage of White Star Line steamship RMS Titanic on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean in 1985, he confirmed eyewitness accounts from the 1912 sinking by showing that the ship had broken in half as it sank. The forward half is in relatively better shape, though the mainmast fell over and the bridge and funnels were lost. This model of the bow section of RMS Titanic is on display at the Mariners Museum in Newport News, Virginia.
Sadly, she doesn't look anywhere near this good now. The mast has completely collapsed, and the wreck is slowly collapsing in on itself. Also, explorers have done damage to the wreck by continuously landing on the Boat Deck.
