Jessika Pava at Awesome Con 2018

After dressing up as Garindan the Kubaz spy for the 501st Legion, this cosplayer at Washington, D.C.'s Awesome Con 2018 went over to the Rebel Legion and dressed up as Resistance fighter pilot Jessika Pava, who made her debut in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens but didn't return for the next film, probably because her actress Jessica Henwick was hired to play Colleen Wing for Marvel.  One bit of commentary I'd like to make is that I think calling Jessika Pava the first important Asian woman in Star Wars isn't quite in line with the worldbuilding -- there's no Asia and humanity is spread all over the galaxy after 25,000 years of spaceflight -- but I personally approve of hiring actors from different backgrounds as long as it feels like they're the right one for the job rather than in service to tokenism.
