Made my baby a hand-made sweater. This is my first attempt at making animal sweaters by crochet... It was a bit big on him, haha. Oh well, I'll make it better next time!

Yes, he was fine. He fell asleep while wearing it, haha. Mine hated it too and I believe lots of ferrets do as well, you just have to train them to get used to it. Mine acted like he was dead when he had his harness on, I had to train him; give him a treat every time he moved. That motivated him to move around and realize it was actually a good thing! Since he was used to having something on him, he was okay with having the sweater on.
He looks very cute with it on. We never tried the treat thing with the harness, so maybe we'll need to see if that works. Ours didn't play dead, they just kept moving backwards and backing out of it!
That might be why. Try first getting them used to the harness on them. When you put the harness on, give them a reward (I use treats on most occasions) for being good with the harness on (Such as no thrashing), and then reward them for every small step they take when they have the harness on. That way, it will motivate them that if they move, they will get a yummy treat! I recommend for the last step that they take, to make it long (Maybe about a 1m or more walk) and their reward will be having the harness taken off. That's how I got my boy used to it.
Haha, I'm not surprised! I think lots of ferrets don't like harnesses, collars, anything on them really. Ramsey, my ferret, acted like he was paralyzed as well. I got him used to the harness by teaching him it was a good thing: Giving him a reward whenever he moved. After a few days, he was fine. So when I did put the sweater on him, he was fine.
