My Bio

Hello! My name is Mandy and I am a self-taught artist, both digital and traditional; drawing is mostly a hobby. My actual profession is in animal behaviour and welfare science: I am a biologist, with a Masters' degree in behavioural ecology. At this moment I am doing a PhD project, studying behaviour and welfare of companion (grey) parrots, with a focus on foraging and feeding behaviour. I love birds, especially parrots and corvids, and I have five feathered friends in my home (3 male budgies, 1 female cockatiel and 1 female kakariki). The music I listen to is metal, rock or alternative, and most instrumental music (I can be very picky when it comes to music).

The money will be saved for my companions animals; if they need to see a vet! I may also donate some money to my research into parrot welfare.

I just found out that my budgerigar colour chart is being sold, and not by me... https://www.dprintes.com/animals-trang-2612-1jdkss (see lower left corner, the budgie genetics) This is the first time that this happens to me. Now what? (Update: I've sent dprintes a copyright infringement notice. I hope they will take it serious and take the poster offline soon.) Here's a link to the original:

He will have to go to the hospital for all sorts of scans for the rest of his life. Thing is, if my husband would have gotten this 2 years earlier, this immunotherapy wouldn't have existed yet, and he would just have to sit and wait... So my life is really fucked up right now and I have to deal with anxiety problems that come with this. The work I do for my PhD is reduced to the bare minimum that I

If you have video timelapses, speedpaints, tutorials etc. on how to paint bird of prey pls let me know as well!

I don't know if you have an account there, but FelisGlacialis has an account on FurAffinity.net I think you'll like it better than dA as FA is not as frustrating as Eclipse.

Thanks, no I do not have an account on FA (yet? depends on how dA evolves). Jayme shares his art with me through other means as well :)

Thank you for the llama!
