Just Married

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 18, 2016, 4:37 AM

It's been a year since I last made a journal update and a lot has happened since then.

I just got married!

The 2nd of July 2016 I married my best friend and the love of my life; Su-rine. Our wedding could not have gone any better and we are both happy as can be.
The weeding was planned according to our theme, which was Harry Potter. After all this time, I'm still a Potterhead through and through. Always.

We wanted a beautiful and classic wedding and used the theme as guideline and Easter eggs. For instance, the seating cards were inspired by Chocolate Frog Cards, my nails were painted as Hedwig, and we got picked up in The Flying Car and combined our two house colors everywhere we could. (Slytherin and Hufflepuff).

We got married in one of my favorite Danish churches (Church of Our Lady) and so many of our friends took part in the ceremony. I have no words to express how much that meant to both of us.

The party afterwards was also amazing and there were so many touching speeches. Many happy tears were sheds, but even more sweet lady kisses were exchanged with my wife.

All the wishes, greetings and gifts from all the people in our lives mean so much. My wedding day was truly the happiest day of my life and I can't wait to grow old with my wife.

Now I just need to get accustomed to my new name. Old habits die hard, as they say.

Cursed Child
Wifey and I then went to London with our British pack sisters to watch Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. They encourage you to "Keep the secrets", so I'll do that. But I will say that it was the absolutely most wonderful play I have ever watched! Brilliant, I tell you. Utterly brilliant.

After a wedding, of course we need a honeymoon. Thus we are going to Japan this Thursday to celebrate our love and marriage. During this time we will also participate in the Alumni program for World Cosplay Summit 2016. We are very much looking forward to seeing our friends again, who live far away. This seemed like an opportunity worth taking.

This was just an update in my life to tell you all that I'm doing absolutely great. Life is amazing when you have someone to fight alongside and share good moments with.

WCS red carpet costumes

Mon Jun 29, 2015, 5:20 AM
Time for the last costume announcement from Team Denmark for the World Cosplay Summit 2015.
For the red carpet parade, we have chosen to bring our favorite sailor scouts; Sailor Uranus and Neptune from Sailor Moon.

Su-rine as  Sailor Uranus - Sailor Moon Crystal by xuweisen and me as  Sailor Neptune - Sailor Moon Crystal by xuweisen

Our costumes so far:
Sailor Soldiers by Su-rine

We adore these costumes and think they will be perfect for the event and comfortable to wear in the heat.

There is, of course, some things to be fixed on these costumes as well. I’m currently waiting for my new stilettos, since the last ones broke both their heels! (Shoes can be bought too cheap, I guess – but I’m not making that mistake again.)

WCS is slowly drawing closer, which means the nerves have set in for real. On the other hand, the realization that I’m part of team Denmark has hit me again. I can’t wait for this adventure to truly begin!

WCS championship costumes

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 17, 2015, 11:16 AM

It's time to announce our costumes for the finals at the World Cosplay Summit 2015!
We will be bringing Zero and Four from Drakengard 3/Drag-On Dragoon 3 with us to Japan for the championship performance.

Su-rine as  Four's Outfit by PhilipMessina and me as  Zero's Outfit by PhilipMessina

Our costumes:
Say your final words by Rinaca-Cosplay

Why did we choose these costumes?
We absolutely love the game and the characters - so we have decided to bring our preliminary costumes with us for the finals. We are also still intrigued by the Intoner sisters story and want to continue to show our love for the game.
Of course we will be fixing and changing a lot of things on the costumes, to make them better. Not to mention that we have an improved soundtrack with Japanese dialogue and ideas for new elements for the act.
Honestly, we can't wait to wear these again and to perform in Japan.

Why did we choose these costumes in the first place?
Surine and I first fell for the character designs and game plot, so we quickly decided to buy it and try it out. We were not disappointed. Drakengard 3 was all we were expecting and more.
Zero is the main protagonist, and in my opinion a nontraditional one. This is due to her evil personality, sexual references and foul language - but that is also what makes her fascinating. She is very sassy and her lines are some of the best.
Together with her dragon, Zero sets out to kill her five sisters. At first you get the impression she wants to kill them, to be the only one left with power. But as the game progresses, you start to realize the reasons for Zero's actions. (I won’t spoil anymore.)
Zero’s left arm is prosthetic. She lost it when she first fought her sisters.

I can highly recommend Drakengard 3. The characters are all very intriguing and the game has many different Branches. This keeps it interesting and for every Brach you get new information and more details.

WCS parade costumes

Wed May 20, 2015, 5:08 AM
I think it's about time to announce some of the other costumes we are bringing to the World Cosplay Summit 2015.
For the parade we will do Lisbeth and Sinon (Alfheim version) from Sword Art Online 2.

Su-rine as  Lisbeth by Exede and me as  Sinon by Exede

Why did we choose these costumes?
For our parade costumes, Surine and I wanted to do something that we were both passionate about and that people might recognize.
Sword Art Online then sprung to mind. I have loved everything about SAO from the very beginning; the plot, the characters and the designs. And with the new season airing, we gave it a shot, hoping to fall in love with some new designs.
When we got to the second half of the season, we were not disappointed. As soon as I saw Sinon's Alfheim avatar, I knew that was what I wanted to. Partly because she is absolutely adorable, but also because she is more bare, which will be perfect in the Japanese heat.
Luckily Surine fell in love with Lisbeth in her gorgeous knight outfit.
I love how the two character designs complement each other, I think they go really well together. :meow:

Anyhow, I hope you all like this choice.

WCS press costumes

Journal Entry: Thu Apr 16, 2015, 1:21 PM
I think it’s about time we announce some of our cosplay plans for the World Cosplay Summit.
For the press/interview we will do Kasumi and Ayane from Dead or Alive. ♡

Su-rine as  `~ Phase 4 : Ninja Outfit ~` by VeiradA and me as  Ayane-Render 07 by Dizzy-XD

Why did we choose these costumes?
I'm a sucker for fighting games, so when Su-rine suggested we could do something from one of these, I instantly agreed. After much consideration, we chose Dead or Alive, since it's one of our favorites.
Choosing the characters proved to be much more difficult, given the many great options. But in the end, we decided on the half-sisters and dedicated these costumes to some of our best friends, Charlotte Pain and Alice Pain Art - seeing as it’s their favorite characters and designs from DOA.

We also made the decision based on the difficulty of the costumes. It will be an "easier" choice compared to what else we'll bring to WCS, and hopefully comfortable to wear and not too warm.
We also think that the colors will complement each other nicely - not to mention that I am really excited about the armor parts and the mask for Ayane!

Kasumi and Ayane have a resemblance to Rei and Asuka from Evangelion, which made it easy for us to decide who would be who.

Anyhow, I hope you all like this choice! ♡

J-Popcon 2015 + qualifying for WCS

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 25, 2015, 1:26 PM

J-Popcon is now over and so many things happened during the weekend..
..So in this journal I will talk a little about my experience Saturday.

Su-rine and I participated in the Danish Cosplay Championship and qualified for The World Cosplay Summit. This means we will be going to Nagoya, Japan this summer as Team Denmark 2015.
It is still so unreal and words cannot describe how much this means to me - it is literally a dream come true!

It is such an amazing feeling that all of the hard work and the many sleepless nights have payed off. Especially since the cosplay show this year was off the charts. Every contestant did such an amazing job and were stunning on stage.

As for the judging part, it was by far the best I have yet experienced and I have never been so calm. All the judges (J.Hart DesignAmeno Kitarou and Yuegene Fay) were so kind and approchable, which made the whole process incredible.

The entire Saturday was spent backstage, but after the show, my cousin Angels-Leaf  and her friend ShuraiyaBascud surprised me and Surine with matching Drakengard 3 costumes.
I cried of happiness, when I realized they were dressed as Dito and One. (I am way too emotional, but it runs in the family!)

Last, but not least, I want to congratulate the other Danish winners:

TheLupin, LillynDK and TinYasuo-Cosplay, who are going to the European Cosplay Gathering (ECG) in France.

And xShinjix, who is going to London to participate in the Euro Cosplay.

And of course Mie-Rose and KamiRenee, who are going to the China International Cartoon & Animation festival (CICAF).

You all deserved it and I am so proud of you all. ❤️

I am so happy to announce that :iconsu-rine: and I are going to Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) in Japan, October 23.-31. 2014.

It is truly an honor to have been invited and we are so excited about going.   ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ

Since TIFF is having a special feature on the works of Hideaki Anno this year our costumes for the event will be two sets from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Of course we will be bringing our plug suits of Rei and Asuka.

As for our new project we are currently working on the maid version of the same characters.  ٩(●˙▿˙●)۶…⋆ฺ

You can see our cosplay lineup for the event here

I’ll do by best to update regularly on my Facebook and my Twitter during the event.

Back from Japan

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 18, 2014, 12:20 AM

So many things have happened. :iconsu-rine: and I have had the most amazing vacation. Here is some highlights, since I don’t want to bore you guys. :flirty:

We started in Tokyo, Japan, where we went to Disneyland and Disneyland Sea. The second day there I proposed to her in front of Cinderella’s castle.

I have never been happier than when she stuttered: “Yes, yes, yes!”

Afterwards we traveled to Kyoto, where we went to Universal Studios, which have some really great attractions. One of the funniest things we tried in Kyoto was getting dressed up as Maiko's - with kimonos, black wigs and white make up. The sight took some getting used to, but we ended up enjoying it to the fullest.

Then we went to Hakone, where we enjoyed their many onsen baths. We also tried bathing in coffee, red wine, green tea etc. It was a really fun experience, even though some of the baths smelled rather weird. We also went to the Open Air Museum. Here we both felt really sophisticated, but it didn’t take long, before we stared goofing around and mimicking the statues.

To end our trip in Japan we went back to Tokyo, where we got some serious shopping done and also tried karaoke! We deeply apologize to anyone who might have gotten injured during our so called “singing”.

Before going back home to Denmark again we spend some days in London and Birmingham, England.
We started our only day in London by going to London Dungeons. Here I got scared senseless, when I got put in cage and a man suddenly appeared in the back. I almost cried of terror, I’m not even kidding. Still we had loads of fun and then went to the movies, to watch “How to Train Your Dragon 2”. The movie was just as good as the first one, but it made us cry our eyes out. The movie also made us want to finish our Ruffnut and Tuffnut cosplays.

We then ended the day watching the musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” which I’ve wanted to see for a year. Sadly we missed it last time we went to London. It was really beautiful to see and our seats were perfect – after the tall woman in front of Surine decided to move.

The vacation got rounded up in Birmingham, where we went to Wolf’s Bane 2. (A convention by Rouge Events for the TV show “Teen Wolf”)

We got to fangirl over the many talented actors, while enjoying their panels, getting photos with them and getting their autographs.

The best thing though, was meeting up with our lovely friends from last year’s convention. :huggle:

Finals and vacation

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 19, 2014, 12:53 AM

A lot has happened the last few weeks. :meow:

I finished my final term paper and my final exam with an A.
It was great to see that all those days of nothing but studying and cancelled plans were worth it in the end.  :la:

And today my wonderful girlfriend :iconsu-rine: and I are going to Japan on vacation for three weeks!
It’s my first time going and it has been a dream for so many years now, so I’m really excited!
We are going to stay in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hakone. :squee:

After that we make a pit stop in London for a few days, so we can attend Wolf’s Bane 2, before heading home to Denmark again.  :flirty:

This was just a short journal to explain, why I will not be active the next month.

I wish you all an amazing summer!

J-Popcon 2014

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 2, 2014, 8:11 AM

J-Popcon 2014 is now over, and it was an amazing weekend. It was nice to see all our wonderful friends again and enjoy a weekend full of anime and cosplay.

Su-rine and I didn't really attend Friday, since we had to finish the last details on our Sunday costumes. We did, however, attend the cosplay show meeting Friday evening.

Saturday was mostly spend backstage before the cosplay show, were we got to enjoy the company of all the other lovely and talented participants.
We performed with our skit from Neon Genesis Evangelion, with Su-rine as Asuka Langley Sohryu and me as Rei Ayanami.

We won the judges special prize with our cosplay skit. :happybounce: You can watch the skit here:

Sunday we cosplayed from the DC Comics univers, with Su-rine as Power Girl and me as Supergirl. We were so lucky that N8e went for the idea of a kissing-shot and created the perfect light for us.

A huge thank you to all the lovely photographers, who were so kind to take pictures of us. I can't wait to see the results.

Black Cat

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 4, 2013, 4:33 AM

Hello everyone.

I will upload my Black Cat photos over the next few days, since I’m finally allowed to upload them.

This is by far my favorite photo shoot! I could not be more pleased with the final result. :meow:

The photographer :iconsimplearts: is ridiculously talented and I am thankful to have got the chance to work with him.

The reason I couldn’t share the pictures sooner is because they are featured in a Danish online cosplay magazine called DKos (#7), which has finally been published.

A huge thank you to :iconsu-rine: and :iconanitchca: who did an amazing job with my make-up.

Genki 2012 is over, what's next:

Sat Aug 25, 2012, 11:21 AM

Genki 2012 is now over, and it was an awesome weekend. However, I had some stressful weeks before the convention.
I stayed at :iconsu-rine:'s place for a week, where we finished our Ranma½ cosplays. We didn't get much sleep since we worked on them until the very day the con started – which resulted in a late arrival. Still we managed to finish and show off our costumes, even if it was only for a few hours.
Since we got there late, most people had already left – but at least we got a great photo shoot with the talented :iconhonosuke:. I cosplayed as Shampoo and :iconsu-rine: as Ukyo.

Saturday I cosplayed as Mileena from Mortal Kombat. I brought a friend with me to be my Kitana. It was her first time at a con, so I was glad to see that she enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. She won't start cosplaying on a regular basis (given the price range), but she would like to go again sometime.

Sunday :iconsu-rine: and I cosplayed from Ranma½ again. After all the time and effort we had put in the costumes, we thought it would be a shame not to wear them again. Also we got another shoot with :iconhonosuke:, this time in bright daylight.

Also I want to say thank you to my wonderful boyfriend being so patient with me and for always wanting to go to conventions with me <3

The next con I attend will be ConFusin (in Sweden) in December, which means I have plenty of time to relax – at least when it comes to cons and cosplays. The next Danish one will be J-Popcon in March.

For now I will be focusing on my apprenticeship, which I start on in September. I am really looking forward to start on it!
Therefore the long breaks between the upcoming cons are coming a good time. Then I will be able to focus on my new work! :D

Hey guys~

So I finally made a deviantART-profile. The reason it took me so long was because I couldn't come up with a good username. o_O
Sometimes I have no imagination. The biggest obstacle was that you can’t change your username again, so I had to come up with something that doesn’t sound too stupid. This one is simple, some part of my real name and easy to remember. xD

I take some time to look through all my pictures and choose the best of them - and sometimes it can be hard to come up with a title. >_<

And thanks to all of you who have watched my profile and faved my pictures, you guys are great! :D

Oh~ and I also made my best friend make an account. :iconjullestar: She's drawing, and in my opinion she's really good! She colures all her drawings by hand. She has only uploaded one picture, but I'm sure more will come soon, so make sure to check out her gallery. ^^
