Quick attempt at realism - weekend project

I made this over the weekend, for an upcoming skin texturing/shading tutorial for blender. I'm rather happy with it.. I really wanted to stay away from the "supermodel perfect proportions sexy cute face" thing that we see all too often. Rather something more natural. Did I succeed? you tell me!

Lovely work! Something seems off with the eyes though, like they're a bit too far apart.

First things first: awesome work both in modelling and texturing! I really like, that you made her the "ordinary woman next door" and not another super model :)
The texturing of the lips looks a bit like oil painted. I suppose you wanted to go for some nude gloss effect - maybe slight changes in the IOR may help to make it even more realistic. I am struggeling as well a bit with the eyebrows. I totally like the shape it is all natural, combined with the hair color I possibly would lighten their color a bit from black to a darkish brown and use as well a color range node that will make the tips of each hairstrand even a bit lighter than the roots :)

Thanks for your suggestions! I think you're right about the lips.. I had some trouble getting them to fit with the rest of the piece. Great idea about using a color range node for the hair. ^_^

Ooh super awesome skin texture! And eyes! The chin/jaw seems a bit narrow and the lip texture is slightly strange but I can't do lips anyway so just ignore me there XD I love the freckles! I know you were deliberately trying to move away fro the supermodel proportions so it's kinda cool to see normal eyebrows rather than the waxed threaded arched whatever eyebrows XD Overall pretty good job I think :)

Hey thanks! This is far from perfect (or perfect imperfection lol), but I'm learning. You have a point about the chin/jaw area, something still feels a bit off there. ;)

I've recently started on Blender, so I'm by no means an expert.
The skin seems too glossy, though, and the eyebrows are a bit thick and too pronounced.  Something about the modelling seems a bit unreal also.
Didn't mean to criticize too much, but you asked for feedback.  This is just my opinion.

Hey no problem :) I'll take good critique over complements any day! Thanks for your suggestions. :D Maybe I'll tone down the gloss and the eyebrows thickness, and perhaps work on the modeling a bit more :) (Someone suggested her eyes are too far apart, and the jaw seems a bit weird) so that could be a good place to start...

the texturing is amazing! But it doesn't look like a photo to me, something just seems off. I don't know what though, sorry. It's still amazing :)

Hey thanks! Yeah getting a CG character to look real is a huge, huge challenge! :) (Especially realistic female characters actually) but hey, if I keep working on it, I might reach that goal.
