Dirty Pair digital ink sample by RickMays Dirty Pair digital ink sample by RickMays
Here's a DP pencil page that was used as a digital ink sample. This little dealie was for a proposed Dirty Pair project I was going to do with Adam Warren. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Why exactly didn't the project happen? Was it because of executive meddling?

Huh... I don't remember now. I think it was, actually. It may have been something on the Japanese end of the project.

Like they weren't happy that you were taking their license to a western approach?

I really can't remember (though Adam probably would). While there was some issue with the licensing, I don't believe that our approach being too western was it.

...I could be wrong, though.

Thanks! I really need to learn Photoshop or Painter so I don't have to actually PAINT every time I want to work in color:(

I do like the ink work on this one. Which do you prefer, digital inking or traditional?

It's pretty much a wash, man. Traditional inking requires more additional time, but for digital inking, I've gotta pencil pretty dark (or hard, since I don't use really soft lead) and fill in some dark spaces that I would otherwise leave open for the inks.

Honestly, traditional is easier for me. But, guys like Adam Warren and Adam Hughes pencil pretty dark and that's better for digital inking (or even printing straight pencils).

It wouldn't surprise me if there was...

In Japan.

It would be alot better if it centered around the Adam Warren version. It would be something like Army of Two. You would customize the outfits of the characters before playing, over a hundered different weapons, minigames such as 1-on-1 fighting and tennis, and best of all, the game would end with the girls saying "BUT IT WASN'T OUR FAULT...".

Most certainly is :)

In the game, they could be in many situations such as being stranded in a forest, being seperated, getting knocked out for a few days, being captured a couple of times, getting attacked by tentacles, fighting in rain, doing a Mr-and-Mrs-Smith-style duel, being in the middle of a huge earthquake, being inside an erupting volcano, and so on.

In the versus fighting mode, Yuri and Kei would be in their fighting suits (as shown in "I Honsetly Hate You"). You can adjust certain things such as number of rounds, round time, health, life bars, etc. Both girls would have a deep amount of moves, ranging from punches, kicks, throws, counters, reversals, grappling moves, etc. You can also dodge moves. The ways (and you've seen it before) you can win include by depleting the oppenent's health (K.O., or perfect if you didn't take any damage), knocking her out of the ring, or having more health when the time expires.

Pretty cool, huh?

Oh I forgot, the types of weapons in the game would include melee weapons, pistols, revolvers, machine pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, assault rifles, battle rifles, sniper rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, lasers, plasma weapons, gauss weapons, explosives, and more.

There would even be a crossbow, a flamethrower, and a minigun.
