Peace of My Own (The Peace of a Schizophrenic) (Poem)
Peace of My Own
Alt Title: The Peace of a Schizophrenic
By J.C. Solis
I feel this feeling as my mind now seethes
The Lie “I’m Okay” my lungs try to breathe
This lie of Peace as I go through this course
As further days prove things can get much worse
I feel this feeling of shouting and screams
As I now wonder if this is a dream
Did screams leave my lips, or are they inside?
It is hard to tell since they coincide
I do not know if I am here or am there
I sometimes don’t I am anywhere
I don’t even know my place within Fate
And if Pain is something I can abate
I am here, but there, the screams and the shouts
As My Mind can’t grasp what my life’s about
The Ones inside taunt me thinking they’re right
The doubt in my head on why I must fight
I tell them “Enough”, and they call me “weak”
For they know full well the Peace I do seek
The Peace of a man who merely wants joy
Who is now fed up with having been toyed
But that is the thing I want more than air
Peace in pursuing
