Butterflies - Prologue Once upon a time, in a small village hidden among the mountains, there were two sisters, loved and cherished by both of their parents equally. Their family weren't wealthy, thus the girls learned to take delight in small, simple things around them. They played with flat rocks near the stream, picked up flowers which grew on the meadows, watched the sakura trees blooming every spring when their soft petals covered the ground, forming long, continuous pink carpets beneath their feet, and last but not least, they spent a lot of time observing butterflies.
They considered those critters their favourite animals, though for different reasons. The little one adored them for their beautiful colours, while her big sister rather admired their strength, that despite their fragility, they were able to fly so high, riding even the wildest winds so confidently.
At one occasion, they were playing at the edge of the forest, when the younger girl spotted two butterflies stuck in a spider's web.
