My Bio

I joined dA many years ago as a visual artist. Not long ago, I changed my artistic focus from visual arts to performing arts (music), which has always been (and will continue to be) my first love. But now, typical of some Aspie people (like myself) whose interests go in cycles, I've decided to go back to polymer clay sculpting. I kind of miss creating something tangible...

Stats: 58 years old and mother of two.

Full Name: Rhonda Young

Current Residence: Oklahoma USA

Notice: I plan to change my Deviant Art name, since the current one "Rhonda-Loves2Sing" doesn't reflect my new artistic interest at the moment. But dA won't allow me to change it until March of next year (2022), so I'm stuck with it until then.

It seems to be the case with many people (like myself), who are on the Autism Spectrum, that creative interests come and go in cycles. Passions about certain artistic endeavors fire up and we are "all in!" At least until that fire starts to die down and we move on to the next one. (Usually, a fire we were once enthralled with before.) This up-coming new year, I'm cycling back around to one of my earlier creative interests: polymer clay. I've missed creating something tangible, and working with stone is too difficult for my hands. Polymer clay can also take a toll on my hands, but, unlike stone, I can soften it and make it easier to manage. So...here I go again...diving into the embers to, hopefully, flare up some new designs and characters. I'll be creating my own creatures, at least in the beginning, and not taking any commission work until I can get a good collection of my own pieces finished. Wishing everyone well, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!

I've written a song for/about Mama and Daddy. Almost. Gotta figure out one line, and it will be done. I have the tune in my head and will record it when I'm finished. The working title is just "A Song for Mama and Daddy." It may change, or it may not. :) Oct. 7, 2021
