Twisting me all around,
I'm endlessly caving in,
and turning inside out.
It's holding me, morphing me,
and forcing me to strive
to be endlessly cold within,
and dreaming I'm alive.

- Muse.

I hope you like this! It's part of a photoshoot I did.
I am the model, I took the photo. (:

I really like this photo. At first glance, it looked interesting, though I'll admit: it took a bit of thinking for me to decide that the title/song lyrics (from an AWESOME band, by the way <3) did actually fit the photo. It seems too relaxed for "hysteria"...but only at first.

Then I reread the lyrics and looked at the picture again, and I realized that for those who stop to LOOK, it really fits.

The angle is a "chaotic" angle; it's not your typical MySpace/Facebook-profile-picture-downward-angle, but it's not a straight-on shot, either. It's somewhere in-between, and with the drastic tilt, I'm reminded of sudden, disoriented shifts in my heart/life.
Because of the angle of the picture and the tilt of your head, your hair looks like it's being blown by the wind--especially the locks in the forefront of the photo, (which are not, but appear to be, blowing across your face) and that adds to the "chaos."
But what really made me able to tie the photo and lyrics together were your eyes and your mouth. Downcast eyes typically speak of sadness, but your lips seem pursed, (almost like a :/ face) and that gives the feeling that you're disappointed or irritated about something. Combine the two, and you've got an expression of true emotional conflict.

So with the angle throwing off the viewers' sense of reality/stability, and with your hair appearing to be twisting chaotically in the wind while your heart twists with emotions and your mind swirls with thoughts, one can really get a deep sense of emotion in this photo. Wrap it all up with some wonderfully expressive lyrics, and you'll find you've personified something very much like the raw feeling of hysteria.
Which just goes to show that a strong message can be passed on through subtle means. :)

Sorry for the long-winded (and probably inaccurate ^^;) breakdown of your photo, but I felt inspired and obligated to leave my positive feedback. I hope I didn't take too many liberties with my interpretations! D':

P.S.: I'm especially impressed that you took this photo yourself. Very good work. :3

Wow, thank you! I love and really appreciate that you took the time to look at this deviation and I really appreciate your comment!

How interesting to discover what you saw in the photo. When I take my photos, I never used to think of a theme or anything, this was the first time I tried that and worked with the sepia tone. When it came to uploading it and adding a title, I was a bit stumped, so I looked into it and tried to think of what would fit. I'm always listening to Muse because they are just awesome (I'm sure you'll agree LOL) and the power of the lyrics were amazing. So I just started typing away, and if I was honest I wasn't quite sure HOW it fitted with the deviation, I just knew it did? So to have you leave your comment expressing how you thought it all came together, really summed up what I wanted it to be! Thank you again!

Wow, thank you soo much! Yes that's what I thought, but I like to think that that's just a shell or a façade if you will, I think it adds thought.

Thank you again!

Wow! The tones are wonderful and soft...your lips almost blend in with the skintones.
Love the movement in the hair and the hint of an eye from underneath it.

I'd say it's worthy of a professional photoshoot.

Thank you so much! I love this shot, it was taken with the sepia which I usually hate using, but the pictures just kept coming out so well, so now it's my favourite mode on ze camera! (: Thank you again, I feel like my work is now worthy of being on here.
