THis is beautiful. I also got the totality, but in Rexburg, Idaho. I unfortunately didn't get any good close photographs. Amazing job.

Well done photo.
And you've been lucky with the weather.

Did you listen to the sounds of nature?

I'm jalous being on the wrong side of the planet.
1999 in Europe was too cloudy.

Got some beads, almost a diamond ring, and the corona is fully visible. Really cool. :) I got to see the eclipse myself with a pinhole projector, though where I live it was just an 89% coverage. Certainly wish I could have had totality, but the clouds that came in did at least allow me to see the maximum eclipse with my own eyes. (I mean, don't stare at the sun and all that, but hey, Mother Nature gave me her own "eclipse glasses".)

Well, here's hoping for 2024.

Huh. What's that speck to the left?

I believe the "speck" is Venus, I was in Nebraska during the eclipse and I saw it too.

Ah, of course. Sounds about right... some Astronomer I would make, ha ha. :P

EDIT: Actually got off my butt and did some research; seems too close to the sun to be Venus. Unless I'm mistaken, it seems to be Mercury.
EDIT, again: Indeed I was mistaken. It's the alpha star in Leo.
