Nice work

I used this as my tablet wallpaper for as long as I could remember without knowing the artist. Then I stumbled upon another flying whale painting and it led me to this deviant page. I am truly happy that I found your zmazing artwork! 

So someone was talking about wave creation and I had an scary and amazing thought. I figured that the thing the whale was jumping through was a cloud. Which is AMAZING because flying whales are my favorite idea ever. But what if it were a wave? Then that would be a friken massive wave, and the surfer came our and saw it coming. Since the beach shoreline isn't shown you don't know if that's a tsunami and hes way out or if its a normal shore. This puts a beautifully darker twist on the title as he's not only waiting for the literal wave, hes also waiting for death to come. He knows he cant escape so hes standing there marveling at the horrible beauty of nature before it destroys him. Fantastic job RHADS!
