TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE

Issue #3 (of 4)

PAGE ONE

PANEL ONE
A darkened command room is host to some of Cybertron’s greatest warriors of the age. Maximus Prime, Magmatron, Silverbolt, Ironhide, Prowl, Lyo and Optimus Primal. The Predacon Snapper is also present, bolstering the Predacon presence. They stand around a circular table, at the centre of which is a 3D holographic representation of Cybertron. A number of red dots representing enemy ships can be seen in a pattern around Cybertron, as well as a large mass in the distance -- Unicron.

1 SNAPPER
Their ships have formed up around the planet. Our window for a pre-emptive strike has all but closed.

2 LYO
Pre-emptive? What exactly did you have in mind?

PANEL TWO
A close-up of Snapper. There is no apology in his face.

3 SNAPPER
Stick a rocket up Prime’s exhaust and get him up there.

PANEL THREE
Lyo and Ironhide each have their arms crossed. They glare back at Snapper. In the background, Maximus Prime continues to study the display. His brow is heavy.

4 LYO
Are you insane?

5 IRONHIDE
You’d risk throwing away the Matrix? Our last line of defence?

PANEL FOUR
Snapper leans onto the table. His glare at Prime is exaggerated by the light from the display. Magmatron stands next to him in the relative darkness, also deeply contemplating the hologram.

6 SNAPPER
How many of us have to die before you step up?

7 MAGMATRON
As many as it takes.

PANEL FIVE
Snapper turns his scathing look to Magmatron. Further around the table, Prowl and Silverbolt try to calm the planning meeting and move it forward.

8 PROWL
But that’s why we’re here -- to try and minimise that number.

9 SILVERBOLT
Correct.

10 SILVERBOLT
Now, none of you have seen the Cybertronian Empire in action, but I have, and their modus operandi is simple: Their warships sit in orbit, just outside the range of any planetary defences, and bombard the surface, giving cover while troops are landed.

11 SILVERBOLT
Its equal parts brutal and effective.

PAGE TWO

PANEL ONE
Green dots rise from the surface of the holographic planet to meet the red ones.

1 SILVERBOLT
Here’s the game plan:

2 SILVERBOLT
Every Fighter, Starhopper, armoured shuttle and transport we can find will try to take out their landing craft, helped along by whatever the Preds have hidden away.

PANEL TWO
Snapper tries to argue but Ironhide raises a threatening finger and points it squarely at him. Beside Ironhide is Optimus Primal, standing silently with arms crossed.

3 SNAPPER
What makes you think-

4 IRONHIDE
Don’t even try it, Snapper. Primal’s crew still have the scars to prove the Preds have been up to a lot in recent years -- so shut it.

PANEL THREE
Silverbolt continues his briefing. The hologram changes to show a representation of a platoon of soldiers in formation. An enemy transport ship flies down towards them.

5 SILVERBOLT
Nicely put.

6 SILVERBOLT
Our radar systems will keep track and report in on any ships that do get through, giving us time to form up and engage them before they land.

7 SILVERBOLT
Chances are the warships won’t waste too much time in taking out our global communications arrays, so it’ll be down to shortwave radio after that.

PANEL FOUR
Ironhide put his hands on his hips. He has a slightly more forlorn look on his face as he stares at the display.

8 IRONHIDE
Deaf and blind. I always liked an uphill battle, but this…

9 SILVERBOLT
It’s not ideal, but Maximal Command will relay information to everyone as best it can.

PANEL FIVE
Snapper is still leaning on the table.

10 SNAPPER
But what about these warships? Even if we do manage to take out the troops, they’ll wipe the planet clean!

11 PROWL
That’s why Primal is here. Once more, we’ll be asking for a miracle from the crew of the Axalon.

12 DIALOGUE PANEL (RATTRAP)
We’re doin’ what?!

PAGE THREE

PANEL ONE
Inside a large aircraft hangar, Cheetor is painting a name (AXALON II) on the front of the hull of the Autobot shuttle, which is still showing all the signs of its traumatic return to Cybertron. Silverbolt is perched on top of the wing of the shuttle, mask on, as he welds some panelling. Optimus Primal is walking towards the large doorway on the side of the shuttle. He has a slightly bemused look on his face as he looks over his shoulder at Rattrap, who is standing rooted to the ground, arms outstretched in protest.

1 RATTRAP
Have you forgotten our last trip in this bucket of bolts?

2 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
That’s your biggest problem with this plan?

PANEL TWO
Primal steps inside the shuttle. Rattrap is still rooted to the spot. He calls after him.

3 RATTRAP
Oh, no -- ‘cos if Rhinox can actually get this thing workin’ again and it gets off the ground, we’ll have the honour of bein’ turned into fireworks for the rest of the planet!

PANEL THREE
Primal walks down the centre corridor of the shuttle. Blackarachnia is typing into a computer terminal. Rattrap pokes his head in the doorway.

4 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Because of the ship’s vintage, it won’t register as a threat to the Empire fleet, allowing us to slip in unnoticed. That’s the theory anyway.

5 RATTRAP
A theory? I’m getting back into this death-trap because of a theory?!

6 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
It’s Prowl’s theory, so it’s got some credibility.

PANEL FOUR
Rattrap is left deflated and rooted to the spot once again.

7 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Before you even say it, Rattrap -- yes, we probably will.

PAGE FOUR

PANEL ONE
Optimus walks into the shuttle’s cockpit, where Rhinox is holding tools and covered in dirt and grime.

1 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
How’s it coming?

2 RHINOX
She’s about set to go.

3 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
You’re kidding?

4 RHINOX
It helps when you’re not working from scraps.

PANEL TWO
Rattrap enters the cockpit, still complaining.

5 RATTRAP
And what if someone just happens looks out a window and sees this golden hunk-a-junk?

6 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Prowl thinks their ship will be on autopilot with a minimal crew.

7 RATTRAP
He thinks?

PANEL THREE
An angle from behind Rattrap, looking up. Rhinox and Optimus look down at him, each with a small smile on their face. Primal places a consoling hand on Rattrap’s shoulder.

8 RATTRAP
It ain’t too late to ask for a transfer, is it?

9 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Get strapped in.

PANEL FOUR
Primal walks out of the cockpit, leaving Rattrap and Rhinox looking at each other.

10 RATTRAP
We’re all gonna die.

11 RHINOX
Yep.

PAGE FIVE

PANEL ONE
A backdrop of swirling black and dark blue tones. It is the Void. In the foreground, the Vok Entity looks around, while Primus stands solemnly, saddened by their surroundings.

1 VOK ENTITY
We know this place.

2 PRIMUS
Yes. The irrevocable nothingness in the wake of Unicron’s other victories. This is the Void.

PANEL TWO
Primus looks to the Vok Entity, who stares out into the nothing.

3 RPIMUS
“That which does not become part of the one shall become void”. Does that sound familiar?

4 PRIMUS
On one of your other visits to Earth, and in the guise of none other than Unicron, you threatened Optimus Primal with those very words.

5 VOK ENTITY
We sought perfection.

PANEL THREE
(Flashback) On an alien planet, The Swarm ravages the indigenous population, consuming them.

6 DIALOGUE PANEL (VOK ENTITY)
Our meeting with the Matrix revealed the cost of the Swarm’s destructive nature. We set about rectifying it.

7 DIALOGUE PANEL (PRIMUS)
To bring balance?

8 DIALOGUE PANEL (VOK ENTITY)
To atone.

PANEL FOUR
(Flashback) Optimus Primal and his Maximals engage Megatron and his Predacons around the Standing Stones.

9 DIALOGUE PANEL (PRIMUS)
And of the myriad of paths you could have taken to redemption, you chose the creation of new life. Life that would one day evolve to join with you -- to become part of the one.

PANEL FIVE
(Flashback) The second moon in orbit around the Earth has opened, revealing a weapon set to cleanse the planet of life. A tiny Stasis pod can be seen travelling up towards it.

10 DIALOGUE PANEL (PRIMUS)
You were unwavering in your quest of that end -- willing to sacrifice that which you thought to have strayed from the desired path. But each time, in the aftermath of destruction, you created life once again, and in doing so, you demonstrated an understanding of the cycle -- of the two opposing forces and the balance that must exist between them.

PAGE SIX

PANEL ONE
Back in the Void, Primus gestures to the great expanse of nothing.

1 PRIMUS
So I ask you now, staring out at the Void --Do you see balance? Do you see perfection?

PANEL TWO
The same angle as the previous panel, but this time, the Vok Entity is looking up and around for the source of the dark voice. Primus’ head drops slightly.

2 DIALOGUE PANEL (UNICRON)
I do.

PANEL THREE
A serpentine ribbon of energy coils around Primus, like a pulsating, orange tongue made of flame. Primus looks greatly unamused and unthreatened.

3 UNICRON
Primus. How often we’ve danced this little dance, but never for an audience...

PANEL FOUR
The coils wrap around the Vok Entity, who looks much more concerned.

4 UNICRON
What are you?

5 VOK ENTITY
If Primus is to be believed, we are your vanquisher.

PANEL FIVE
The ‘head’ of the pulsating ribbon ‘looks’ at Primus, while still coiling around the Vok Entity.

6 UNICRON
This, Primus? This is your Xal?

PANEL SIX
The ‘head’ looks back to the Vok Entity.

7 UNICRON
And do you believe? Primus has, without doubt, told you of my misdeeds -- my destruction of reality and all that call it home.

8 UNICRON
You must be without doubt about one other thing, however -- Primus, himself, is not without sin.

PAGE SEVEN

PANEL ONE
The ribbon coils up and down the body of the Vok Entity.

1 PRIMUS
You will not twist this one as you have twisted others.

2 UNICRON
Did Primus mention that it was he who discovered how to move between realities? That he encouraged me to try?

PANEL TWO
The coiling mass seems to pulsate with anger.

3 PRIMUS
I saw through your lies to what you truly desired, and I made to stop you.

4 UNICRON
You watched on, silently, as I was stripped of function.

5 PRIMUS
You brought it on yourself.

PANEL THREE
The coiling mass moves around the head of the Vok Entity, almost lovingly. Whispering sweet nothings into the Vok Entity’s ear.

6 UNICRON
Abandoned by my Brother and left to die.

PANEL FOUR
Primus grabs hold of the coiling ribbon and hurls it away.

7 PRIMUS
Enough!

PANEL FIVE
The ribbon is unaffected and begins to form a more solid, bipedal form.

8 UNICRON
Violence, Primus? That’s unlike you. Destruction is not in your nature…

PANEL SIX
The form has become solid, as we have a close-up of Unicron’s eyes, looking evil.

9 UNICRON
But there is nothing else in mine...

PAGE EIGHT

PANEL ONE
Rattrap sits casually perched on the top of the Command Chair of the Autobot Shuttle. Optimus Primal is at the helm. He has a look of deep concentration on his face as he grips the controls tightly.

1 RATTRAP
All I’m sayin’ is why does it have to be our darkest hour? Why let it get that bad?

2 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Rattrap, now really isn’t the time.

PANEL TWO
Looking out of the cockpit window from behind the two Maximals, we see the sky is alight with explosions and laser fire as the Autobot Shuttle heads for Space. Cybertronian Empire landing craft are being chased by Maximal ships. It’s a hectic and dangerous environment outside, and Primal is trying to steer the ship safely through it all. Rhinox is at a computer terminal at the rear of the cockpit.

3 RATTRAP
If it looks like its getting’ a little dim, why wait for it to get any darker before they use the Matrix?

4 RHINOX
I bet Ultra Magnus was thinking the same thing on Junkion.

PANEL THREE
Optimus Primal leans back in his seat slightly, relaxing after a tense few minutes.

5 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
We’ve broken the outer atmosphere. Are we still one piece?

PANEL FOUR
An external shot of the Autobot Shuttle as it moves out of Cybertron’s orbit and into space. All around the globe, Cybertronian Empire Battlecruisers sit in orbit and bombard the surface.

6 SILVERBOLT (OS)
By Primus!

PANEL FIVE
Inside the Shuttle’s cockpit, Silverbolt and Cheetor have entered the cockpit and are standing on either side of the command chair. They all look out the side of the window and down at the planet being attacked.

7 RATTRAP
Well, doesn’t that take the cheese.

8 SILVERBOLT
Suddenly our assignment doesn’t look so bad, does it, Rattrap?

9 CHEETOR
So far so-

PAGE NINE

PANEL ONE
The shuttle suddenly lurches, as if it’s just been shot. Everyone but Optimus falls to the floor. The lights inside the shuttle glow red in alarm.

1 SFX
GRRRRNNNNN

PANEL TWO
Rattrap sits bolt upright and points a finger straight at Cheetor.

2 RATTRAP
You just had to jinx it, didn’t ya, kid?

PANEL THREE
Optimus steadies the shuttle and gives Rattrap and Silverbolt a terse look. Rhinox leans against the terminal he was working at for support.

3 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
It was just some debris. The kind I asked you to keep an eye out for.

4 RHINOX
There’s a mass of subspace traffic moving through a ship up ahead.

PANEL FOUR
Rhinox leans on the side Optimus chair and points to a ship in the distance.

5 RHINOX
If the automation systems were being controlled from anywhere, that’d be out best bet.

6 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Good work.

PANEL FIVE
An external shot of the Autobot Shuttle, heading towards a Cybertronian Empire ship in the distance. Cybertron is still getting bombarded by other ships in orbit.

7 OPTIMUS PRIMAL (OS)
Alright, Maximals -- Lock and load!

PAGE TEN

PANEL ONE
Magmatron walks forwards between the formed up lines of a platoon of Predacon soldiers. Some look keen, others look downright terrified.

1 MAGMATRON
At the end of the Great War, our armies were betrayed. Betrayed and dismantled by those who commanded them -- fearing the wrath of Time upon their Sparks. But they had forgotten one thing…

PANEL TWO
Magmatron arrives at the front of the platoon and turns to face the amassed Predacons.

2 MAGMATRON
We are Predacons!

3 MAGMATRON
We know no fear!

PANEL THREE
A close-up of a Predacons cocking their weapons.

4 MAGMATRON (OS)
Today, we reform the lines.

5 MAGMATRON (OS)
Today, we take back our honour.

6 SFX
CH-CHK

PANEL FOUR
Magmatron, still facing the Predacons, draws his sword. His is brimming with power and passion. In the background, there is a squad of Cybertronian Empire troops marches towards them, flanked by their landing craft.

7 MAGMATRON
Today -- We carve our name into Time’s very face!

8 SFX
SHHHIIII

PANEL FIVE
Magmatron turns and charges towards the reader, sword raised. The Predacons behind him charge forwards too.

9 MAGMATRON
We shall never be forgotten!

PAGE ELEVEN

PANEL ONE
In a hangar bay on board the Cybertronian Empire ship, the Autobot shuttle has landed. Cheetor and Blackarachnia have their weapons drawn as they cover the front and rear or the vessel. Silverbolt and Rhinox are at the bottom of the gangway as Rattrap exits the shuttle.

1 SILVERBOLT
Be sure to pass your compliments on to Prowl when you next see him, Rattrap.

2 RATTRAP
Ehh, we ain’t outta here yet.

PANEL TWO
Optimus walks down the gangway, weapons ready. Rhinox and Rattrap look back up the gangway.

3 OPTIMUS
Alright, listen up. Rhinox, Rattrap -- You’re with me. We’ll head down, trying to make as much noise as we go, then double-back here, ready for departure.

PANEL THREE
Cheetor and Blackarachnia join the group at the bottom of the gangway to receive instructions. Rhinox and Rattrap exchange a look.

4 OPTIMUS
Cheetor, Silverbolt -- Get Blackarachnia to whatever control room you can find.

5 OPTIMUS
We’ll try to give you as clear a run as possible.

6 RATTRAP
I swear I saw him give Prime’s Spark back, but sometimes I wonder…

PANEL FOUR
Optimus and Rhinox run off towards a doorway in the background, weapons ready. Rattrap gives the reader a small shrug.

7 OPTIMUS
Let’s roll out!

PANEL FIVE
As Rattrap, Rhinox and Optimus exit the hangar, Blackarachnia looks to Silverbolt, who has transformed into Beast-Mode.

8 BLACKARACKNIA
It’ll be up to your nose to keep us safe, Bowser.

9 SILVERBOLT
Fear not, my love. My sensors have already calibrated to this strange new environment. Stay by me and I shall lead you safely to your prize.

PANEL SIX
Cheetor transforms into Beast-Mode and heads for a different door than the one Optimus took. Silverbolt has his nose to the ground. Blackarachnia puts her hands on her hips in protest.

10 CHEETOR
We’ll be quicker on all-fours.

11 BLACKARACHNIA
Excuse me?

12 CHEETOR
Fours, eights, whatever. Let’s move.

PAGE TWELVE

PANEL ONE
Optimus Primal, Rhinox and Rattrap walk in formation down a corridor of the Cybertronian Empire ship. It’s showing signs of age, with wiring hanging out of the high ceiling. Rhinox and Rattrap are at the front, with Primal keeping guard at the rear. They have their weapons drawn and ready.

1 RATTRAP
So you and the Boss Monkey might have these guys covered, but what about little ol’ me?

2 RHINOX
I once heard a story about Grimlock doing a job on Devastator, single-handedly.

3 RHINOX
He went for the joints. Always a weaker spot on a gestalt, but the principles are the same for all of us.

PANEL TWO
A close-up of Rhinox, looking stern.

4 RHINOX
Cut them off at the knees, then go in for the head.

PANEL THREE
Rhinox and Rattrap look down the corridor as a Cybertronian Empire troop steps around the corner and glares down at them.

5 RATTRAP
Care to demonstrate?

PANEL FOUR
Optimus and Rattrap open fire as Rhinox charges forward, transforming into his rhino-mode.

6 RHINOX
Cover-fire!

7 RATTRAP
You got it!

8 SFX (BLASTERS)
KSHOO-KSHOO-KSHOO

PANEL FIVE
Rhinox collects the knee of the troop, who begins to fall sideways. Sparks fly from where Rhinox makes contact.

9 SFX
GRRRRN

PAGE THIRTEEN

PANEL ONE
An angle from above. Rhinox, in robot-mode, stands on the back of the trooper who is lying on the ground. Rhinox is pointing a chain-gun at the troop’s head. The trooper tries to look over his shoulder. The side of Rhinox’s beast-head on his back has been scrapped back to the metal, giving it a Terminator-esque look.

1 SFX (CHAINGUN SPINNING)
WRZZZZZ

PANEL TWO
An angle looking up. Rhinox is illuminated by the blasts coming out of the end of his chain-gun, but we can’t see the damage being inflicted to the troop. Rhinox has a severe look on his face, made eerier by the odd shadows being caused by the blaster fire.

2 SFX
GDGDGDGDGDGDGD

PANEL THREE
Rattrap and Optimus share a very concerned look with each other.

3 RATTRAP
If we get out of this, remind me that I owe Rhinox 50 Credits from a long way back.

4 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
So do I.

PANEL FOUR
Rhinox walks up, holding his head slightly, looking a little groggy from the impact.

5 RHINOX
Urgh. That hurt.

6 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
I’ll take the next one.

7 RHINOX
You said we were here to make some noise…

PANEL FIVE
Rhinox holds up his two chain-guns once again.

8 RHINOX
So let’s rock.

PAGE FOURTEEN

PANEL ONE
Silverbolt still has his nose to the ground, but holds up a paw, giving a signal to stop. He is in front of a large doorway, with its doors opening.

1 SFX
FHH FHH

2 SILVERBOLT
If my nose is correct, and there’s any sense to the configuration of this vessel, I believe the bridge is behind this-

PANEL TWO
An angle from below Silverbolt, looking up to the towering robot that has just stepped through the doorway. It  glares down in anger at Silverbolt.

3 SILVERBOLT
… Door?

PANEL THREE
The same angle as the previous Panel, but Blackarachnia, in Beast-mode, has leapt up and latched on to the troop’s face. Cheetor, also in Beast-Mode, is tearing at its throat. The troop stumbles backwards.

4 SFX
GRISH-GRASH

PANEL FOUR
Now inside the bridge, the troop tears Blackarachnia from its face, and Cheetor from its neck. Cheetor still has wiring from its throat in his mouth.

5 SFX
KRZZT

PANEL FIVE
Silverbolt, now in Robot-Mode, stands in the doorway and fires two wing missiles.

6 SFX
PFOO-PFOO

PANEL SIX
Silverbolt’s missiles strike the troop in the face.

7 SFX
KOOOSH

PANEL SEVEN
As the troop falls backwards, Cheetor barks orders at Blackarachnia, who has already scaled some of the massive equipment and is typing into it.

8 CHEETOR
Blackarachnia…

9 BLACKARACHNIA
I’m already on it.

PAGE FIFTEEN

PANEL ONE
Cheetor hits the comm-link on his chest.

1 CHEETOR
Cheetor to Optimus. Come in, Big Bot.

2 RADIO (OPTIMUS PRIMAL)
Arrgh. Go ahead, Cheetor.

PANEL TWO
Optimus Primal, Rhinox and Rattrap are taking shelter in a doorway and firing up a corridor in both directions. There is incoming blaster fire.

3 RADIO (CHEETOR)
Have I caught you at a bad time?

4 RATTRAP
A bad time?!

5 RADIO (CHEETOR)
We found the bridge. Blackarachnia is weaving her magic so we should be out of here any-

6 SFX
GDGDGDGDGD

PANEL THREE
A shot looking down the corridor. Optimus Primal fires his back-mounted cannons and takes down an Empire trooper.

7 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
No. Maintain control of the bridge. We’re on our way up.

8 RADIO (CHEETOR)
Up?!

9 SFX
KSH-KSH

PANEL FOUR
An angle from beside Blackarachnia as she looks down to Cheetor and Silverbolt. A radar display is on the console next to her. All the dots are red.

8 BLACKARACHNIA
All Empire ships are now registering new targets on their scopes.

9 RADIO (OPTIMUS PRIMAL)
Does that include this ship?

PANEL FIVE
The same angle as the previous panel. The ship takes a hit to its hull and everyone is thrown off balance. All the lights on the bridge start to glow red in alarm.

10 RADIO (OPTIMUS PRIMAL)
I’ll take that as a ‘yes’.

PANEL SIX
Optimus has fired up his jets and flies towards another trooper. Optimus fires both of his wrist-mounted blasters.

11 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
They found the shuttle, so we’re going for Plan B.

12 RADIO (CHEETOR)
I didn’t know there was a Plan B.

13 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
There isn’t.

PAGE SIXTEEN

PANEL ONE
The ship takes another hit and everyone on the bridge grabs onto something for support. Cheetor points out the windscreen to the planet below. Other Cybertronian Empire ships can be seen firing at each other.

1 CHEETOR
Bolt, take the helm. Point this ship at Cybertron and land it.

PANEL TWO
Silverbolt flaps his wings and lands at the oversized controls. He looks very concerned. Cheetor and Blackarachnia are running out the door.

2 SILVERBOLT
Propulsion systems are fading.

3 CHEETOR
Then crash-land it! We won’t survive another cycle up here!

PANEL THREE
Rattrap runs down a corridor lined with a large window, out of which you can see Cybertron. Chasing Rattrap is a Cybertronian Empire troop.

4 RATTRAP
Grab a hold a somethin’!

PANEL FOUR
An angle from behind Rattrap as he runs behind Optimus and Rhinox who are almost to a doorway. Rattrap throws two small bombs sideways (at the window).

5 RATTRAP
This is really gonna suck.

PANEL FIVE
The bombs stick to the window.

6 SFX
BEEP BEEP

PANEL SIX
The window is blown out and everything begins to get sucked into space, including the trooper.

7 SFX
KA-SHOOOM

PAGE SEVENTEEN

PANEL ONE
The troop vanishes out the window as Rattrap makes a frantic lunge for the outstretched hand of Rhinox, who is hand in hand with Optimus, who is holding onto the doorway.

PANEL TWO
A very tight shot. Rhinox and Rattrap’s hands are centimetres apart.

PANEL THREE
An even tighter shot. Rhinox and Rattrap’s hands are millimetres apart.

PANEL FOUR
The same tightness as the previous panel, but Rattrap’s hand has slipped away. He’s being sucked out.

1 RHINOX
NO!

PANEL FIVE
Rattrap is terrified as he is sucked back towards the window.

2 RATTRAP
Eeeeeeehhhhh!

PANEL SIX
Blackarachnia, in Spider-Mode, suddenly latches around Rattrap’s body.

3 BLACKARACHNIA
Gotcha.

4 RATTRAP
Hoo-hooo! Legs!

PANEL SEVEN
Cheetor, Rhinox and Optimus are holding on to Blackarachnia’s webbing. Optimus smiles broadly.

5 OPTIMUS PRIMAL
Well that’s just Prime!

PANEL EIGHT
From behind the central chair in the cockpit, we see the back of Silverbolt, looking out of the front window. Cybertron is filling the window in front as the Empire ship enters the planet’s atmosphere.

PANEL NINE (INSET PANEL)
An extreme close-up of Silverbolt’s eyes. He is very, very concerned and his ears have dropped.

PAGE EIGHTEEN

PANEL ONE
(Flashback) Three Cybertronian Empire troops stand in the foreground. They look like your normal green and silver troops, except their heads are reminiscent of those of the three Tripredacus Council members. In the background, we have a small number of other troops. They are of little consequence apart from a particularly creepy looking one (Tarantulas). They stand on an alien world, again, of little consequence.

1 DIALOGUE PANEL
The paths to ubiquity are well-trodden, but paved in failure. Ours is no different -- the missteps of our former masters have provided us sure footing.

PANEL TWO
(Flashback) Jhiaxus is consumed by a dark, pulsating mass -- The Swarm.

2 DIALOGUE PANEL
Jhiaxus, the Liege Centuro, was consumed by his pursuit of order, but devoured by chaos.

PANEL THREE
(Flashback) The Liege Maximo is torn apart by white lightning as his ascension to godhood fails.

3 DIALOGUE PANEL
The Liege Maximo, whose true name was gilded in betrayal, would fall, fittingly, into nothing.

PANEL FOUR
(Flashback) A multitude of red, spindly arms protrude from a chamber wall and suspend the struggling forms of several Cybertronian Empire troops.

4 DIALOGUE PANEL
Fortune would then deliver us to the very Pit itself, but unlike the untold number before us, this would not be our end, but the beginning of his.

PAGE NINETEEN

PANEL ONE
(Flashback) The figure of Corvus stands, taking in its new form. He was once a Cybertronian Empire troop, but now he’s been reformatted. In the background, silhouetted figures flee (other Empire troops).

1 DIALOGUE PANEL
Desperate and weakened from his last encounter with the Light, he reached out to us, to twist us to his will. But in his debilitated state, his attempts failed on all but one.

PANEL TWO
Back in the present, a giant foot steps on and crushes the discarded bodies of the Tripredacus Council.

2 DIALOGUE PANEL
We escaped his maw, and with the Hub destroyed, we returned to an ancient home.

PANEL THREE
A giant form, silhouetted, ascends some stairs towards the burning night sky.

3 DIALOGUE PANEL
Unicron would return, but we would be waiting for him, ready and poised to strike.

PANEL FOUR
From a distance, we see the top of the Predacon Citadel. Its top has opened revealing an enormous TransWarp Shunt device, which is powering up. Forming a circle around the device are Unicron Cultists, kneeling in reverence. The giant form of Tripredacus steps onto the pad, but we can’t make him out in much detail.

4 DIALOGUE PANEL
Our race has no word for one that commands a god. Today, that will change. Today, that word will be…

PAGE TWENTY

PANEL ONE
Full-Page image. The full majesty of the combined Tripredacus body is revealed as it roars its name to the heavens.

2-2 OH SNAP XD

Does 2-3-5 refer to what has been said the panel before or what Silverbolt is about to say?

3-3-4 I also like to sip my vintage.
3-3-5 Obviously, Rattrap does not know what "theory" means in a scientific context.

9-3-4 I think I was confused by the "traffic" before - it's lots of communication signals sent and recieved by that ship, wasn't it?

10-4-7 That's a weird metaphor, but then again, if I were in the Preds' place, fighting for the existence of my home planet, I wouldn't care.

11-5-9 Aha! It's the OTHER Silverbolt!

What is 13-3 about?

14-2 and 14-3: Instead of "robot" in 14-2, use "troop" (from 14-3) as the first description.

17 But... They don't need air. They totally can survive in space...

18-4 Whose are those red, spindly arms?

2-2 Ironhide is a ball-breaker. Blunt. Fun to write.

2-3-5 It refers to what Ironhide said. It should probably go in the panel before, but in my head it's like a little aside as Silverbolt carries on with the plan as if without being interrupted.

3-3-4 Sip? Ship?

3-3-5 And nor do I.

9-3-4 Yes. Radio traffic, so to speak.

10-4-7 I use 'Time' there meaning 'History'. A record of what's happened. They're leaving an irrevocable mark on the universe.

11-5-9 Yeah. The team is back together.

13-3 Rhinox has just torn a huge bot a new asshole all by himself. We all know Rhinox has some anger buried deep in him, and it only comes out on occasion. This is one instance where he gives it full reign, and so Primal and Rattrap are actually taken a little aback by just how violent Rhinox can be. It's all in good humor, but it's a part of Rhinox we've seen in little bits.

14-2 and 14-3 Good thinking. Avoid confusion.

17 Rattrap doesn't have a flight-mode, so he'd be lost to the vacuum of space. Probably drawn in by Cybertron's gravity and burnt up on re-entry. The thing you should really be questioning is why is the Cybertronian Empire ship pressurised...

18-4 Do you recall Transformers: The Movie? When Daniel and Hot Rod are inside Unicron, they're attacked by red spindly arms that pop out of the walls. That's what's being referenced there. I should probably state that outright, but then you lose the surprise reveal later. One part script -- one part telling a story.

3-3-5 I admit, I'm too lazy to define it (maybe I do not even know the definition by heart? O.o), but I also feel like it would be futile to link you to Wikipedia's article about "Scientific Theory".

17 Ah, but obviously the ship is pressurised so that the sound they make with their soundboxes carries, because there's no way that advanced alien robots could communicate via Bluetooth or some other form of wireless technology like my router and my computer do. :P
Actually, while it's not convincingly possible to depicte them communicating via inter-Transformers radio in animated media, I think it could be done in comics form, where Mr Time is represented by space, thus allowing to depict a lenghty internal conversation at the speed of thought in a split second. I plan to experiment with this in two TF comics (well, one TF comic and one with TF expies), should I ever get around to creating them.

3-3-5 Maybe I should have used the word 'guess'. It's Prowl's guess, so it's better than most peoples facts.

17 Now you're just talking crazy. It's called science fiction for a reason ;p

That's an intriguing idea. They are machines after all, capable of thousands of calculations a second. They should be able to communicate at a similar rate.

So Prowl is like Mr Spock! (Kirk would also take Spock's guess above others' facts.)

Though someone who has to do with computers and programing told me that the communication between components is one of the most time consuming processes. Dunno if one could realistically solve that by throwing more processing power at the problem, but hey, advanced alien robots.

Yes indeed. Cold and calculating, but not to the point of asshole-ness he's generally seen as in IDW.

Advanced alien robots is all the justification you need.
