Anyone have any cool sayings in different languages? Or just some really unique English sayings that aren't very common. I'm curious o3o

"If I cannot bend heaven, I will raise hell." -Virgil

Also some good latin phrases are:
"per adua ad astra" or "through hardship, you will go the stars"
"
Auribus Teneo Lupum" or "I hold the wolf by the ears" (ancient proverb)
"
semper ad meliora" or "always towards better things"

My art teacher used to say "Bob's your uncle" all the time. I'm not quite sure what it means, he just sort of said it to mean "okay" LOOOOOOOOOL.

LOL Well clearly you have an uncle named Bob now XD
But I really don't know how you extract "okay" from "Bob's your uncle" omg

We have a lot of sayings in norwegian that sounds rather stupid when you translate them to english :'D
They all mean good though

"Morgenstund har gull i mund." -about morning
"Ut på tur- aldri sur!" -about walking
"Bak skyene er himmelen alltid blå." -about getting through hard times

Eyyy google translate did a pretty good job with the last one, not so much the first two XD
I feel like I'm pronouncing these so bad haha. I'm going to see if I can them down on my spare time. Different languages always fascinate me XP

There's tons more, like one almost every kid says
"Hade på badet, din gamle sjokolade!"
which translates to "Goodbye on the bathroom, you old chocolate!" LMAO

Also maybe you'll find some untranslatable norwegian sayings facinating too :'D

uhm... this isn't really cool but in chinese, if you say 'bu gei hong bao, da chun xion mao' it means if you don't give money on new years day, you'll resemble a panda [from punching//black eyes] xD

its very fun to use when you need money on new years! xD

only tell it to people older than you though :T
