Sal knew that she had been part of a victory. So why then did it feel…hollow? As she got into bed she tossed and turned, desperately trying to get to sleep. As she eventually fell asleep the feeling in her mind only seemed to grow stronger…
Laughter seemed to echo around her. And then they realised who the laughter was directed at. It was then she looked up and saw that at the head of the crowd pointing and laughing was her mother.
“You should have stayed with me Sally.”
