The artistic project that I defend is based initially on time. I intend to develop and investigate time, time travel and the course of time, through art. At its inception, photography helped me, enabling me to express from fractional seconds until longer periods.

In a quest to bring an expression of time and manual more plastic language, my research continues to introduce the techniques of engraving, lithography and silkscreen.

But also for image making, I focus on another subject that interests me personally and that it becomes indispensable in my work, old video games.

The reason for making images of old video games, apart from personal interest above that I have for them is the new treatment that I give in my work.

These images, which are normally characterized by its geometrical shapes, pixel very marked and little definition in detail, are a window to the past when we see them today, a window that leads to the technology 30 years ago and has nothing to do with the new high-definition images being produced today.

However, in the 70s, these images were a symbol of the technology of the time, were, indeed, something never seen, a window into the future.

That's the game I show in my images, the ability to travel in time, backward or forward, depending from when it is observed. My work also contrasts the pixelated and geometrically perfect images with the imperfection of manual tracing and the colours and textures of different techniques such as engraving, lithography and silkscreen.

Other common details in the images is the use of numbers and text in most of them, referring to the score or playing time. Also keep one thing in common all the pictures, they all have a frame of black ink framing the image and simulates an old television. The title always shows name, system and year of release.

Great gallery!
Especially your print-work!
I was wondering where 'reus' is coming from...
Did you know that 'reus' means 'giant' in dutch?

Thank you!

I'm using "reus" as nickname for years, I simply imagined it.

Some time later, I've noticed that there is a city in Spain with the same name, but there is no relations.

Now I know it has sense in dutch too, I like its meaning.

"Bedankt!" ;)
