This is my first entry for :icondreamers-welcome:'s monthly challenge. This month, the theme was break.
It is also part of a challenge that I set for myself: Each day, I will make a new pencil sketch. Most people don't see them because they're not watching my Scraps and also not reading my Journal. Click the navigation above to see more.

In case you are wondering: Yes, this is pencil, too. I use the GIMP to colour the sketches so that they don't look all grey.

All flying islands, floating rocks, hovering cities and the likes should be submitted to :iconflying-islands-here:, a group I co-founded because it didn't exist yet. Flying islands can be found everywhere, in books, in movies, in TV series, in comics and, of course, in games. As for everything important, there is a Wikipedia article about this.

If you don't like the way it's coloured, there's also an all brown version of this: click here

:iconprojectcomment: The tag for me was build so I think this is as close as I could get. Thumbs Up

I really like the concept behind this simple drawing (probably mostly because i've always wanted my little flying island, but who doesn't?). I like the little flying bits "hanging" off of it and that the water flows downwards from it.
I am guessing that you will leave this as simple (yet very pretty) as it is, but I'd definitely love to see it as something more detailed. Perhaps a background, maybe a bit more variation with colours, but it's all up to you, of course.

Overall, I really like this drawing and all your other artwork, it seems very original and straight to the point. Good work! :la:
