Ah, the absolutely instant and foolproof and failsafe depilatory cream that was nearly omnipresent in old science fiction short stories or novels. It was a predictable feature of the science fiction future, like flying cars and humanoid general purpose robots. When low cost and truly foolproof and failsafe electric shavers finally appeared in the real world then the mentions of depilatory cream disappeared in science fiction short stories or novels.


Hey, you should make a barbershop quartet with general purpose robots serenading nostalgic former customers (all wearing tights of course).
