You might have noticed I sort of dropped off the face of the world for pretty much a whole year. Oops.
Blogging and snapping photos became a lot of work for me. As did crafting for a long while. I'm getting back into it slowly-slowly. I found a new app that I love - Instagram - and I'm loving all the great craft and DIY people I've added there!
So I'll be uploading some of the things I've been working on over the next little while as I try and ease myself back into the swing of things.
All Instagram photos until I feel ok with getting out the "big girl" camera and photoshop!
And a big hello to all my new watchers who've come on
Things are pretty busy over here at Chez Cheese, and I must admit I feel a little overwhelmed with everything that's going on and consequently not dealing too well with the stress! It's taken me a few weeks to "man up" and realise that putting my head in the sand won't make all the work go away; in fact it will only serve to increase my stress when I realise how late I've left everything!
That being said, there has been a little crafting going on as I slug away at commissions and try and relax in front of some TV with my new couch-craft - crochet.
More on the crochet later - for now, here are some of my latest stamp commissions.
This was another project I was so glad to go back and revisit. I made my very first rainbow scarf way back in June... 2008! http://twocheeseplease.livejournal.com/11761.html I still wear that rainbow scarf and love it just as much as the day I made it, and it gives me a funny feeling of nostalgia (mixed with a little embarrassment! ) to see all the wonky top-stitching. It's great to be able to see how much you've improved at something, but I'm not sure I entirely like having little wonky reminders around me!
So I was very happy when I received a request to make another rainbow scarf - this one even longer! My original scarf had 28 unique pri
It feels so good to finally have some time to do some serious sewing.
Not just stolen moments of furtive stitching here and there, but some serious creative, meditative, head down concentrating sewing.
I'm making good progress on my commission backlog and working on some pretty exciting stuff that I hope I'll be able to show you real soon!
Right now I'm finishing up some long-overdue Legend of Zelda fanart slippers for a very patient lady.
Here is a sneak peek for you, my lovelies!
I managed to source some actual moccasin bottoms for the slippers, and they even have sheepskin inlay in them so the
Urgh, I picked up this nasty flu from god knows where, and it's really knocking me about at the moment. I've managed to skip all the snot (thank god for small mercies?) but it's attached itself to my stomach so basically I feel like I'm pregnant to a Gieger Alien. Not cool!
So I've had a week off work (no pay) and my dog was sick in dog hospital and then my girl dog needed to get fixed, so I'm totally feeling the pinch right now!
As soon as I'm well enough to make it out of bed I'm gonna finish off this round of commissions and then reopen for more to try and chip away at some of those vet bills!
I hope everyone down under has escaped the
